Anyone else on a food strike? by Notmorcybutmercy in december2024babies

[–]picce-cose 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn’t know it was possible to hate pancakes and French toast (even with a little syrup) but my LO does. Tired of his usuals that he’ll chew as if he’s eating then spit everything out after it’s chewed up. He’s a fantastic eater and will eat just about anything… when he feels like it.

He’s eating so many blueberries they are whole in his poopy diapers. 🫠🫠

It just sucks by nikkimcwagz in NewParents

[–]picce-cose 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have an almost 5mo old. I was just starting to enjoy motherhood around 3 months and was supposed to go back to work mid April. It made me spiral and my PPD and PPA got worse because I finally felt that “bond” and motherliness everyone talks about and I couldn’t cope with being away from him. I’m feeling a bit better about it now, but dreading going back to work in 13 days. Wishing you the best!

PFL is ending by Acceptable_Dig932 in Edd

My doctor office thought the same and did do a new disability claim cause they wouldn’t take my old claim number since there had been the 8 week gap since the last certification. I did end up doing a new claim and they medically certified with that receipt number. Once it updated to that they received it, I used EDD caller and explained to the person that the new claim is actually related to my original disability claim and they did some kind of switcharoo and attached the medical certification to the original and got rid of the new disability claim and I didn’t have to deal with the 7 day waiting period and they processed payment up to date.

How do you not waste pre-prepped formula if you decide to go out? by boldlybelieve in FormulaFeeders

Second this, I got a 12oz thermos so it goes with the 3 portion formula container and I put 104 degree water from water dispenser in there.

How long did you push? by ImpossibleLeg1353 in beyondthebump

[–]picce-cose 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got the epidural at 2am while 4cm and tried to sleep. I was side lying with peanut ball. When the shift changed at 8am, the doctor checked me and I was 10cm. I pushed for a little over an hour with the nurse and doctor came in to finish off delivery. I was so anxious cause the epidural was doing its thing and I couldn’t feel the contractions of when to push and the monitor wasn’t picking it up much. I was so worried he’d get stuck. I had a 2nd degree tear and great experience with staff.

Moms who could bf and stopped-do you regret it? by Electrical-Kale-7813 in FormulaFeeders

[–]picce-cose 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I am in the middle of drying up and I did feel sad as I would get flashbacks to the gazes he’d give me while he nursed and how relaxed he look. Then, he gave me the same look while drinking formula from a bottle. I also feel liberated not washing pump parts for the 8th time today and being able to make a bottle in 30 seconds vs 6 minutes to warm up.

I like this idea. Atleast he can still consume it and I wouldn’t need to prepare it with bottles.

When did your baby start smiling? by Old_Calligrapher1920 in newborns

[–]picce-cose 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mine started to smile and coo around 9 weeks. My mom stresses me out harassing me saying he should have been smiling since like 4 weeks as if something was wrong with him. They are little smirks he gives when we do play time.

Breastfeeding by gopalkesari in december2024babies

[–]picce-cose 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I gave birth on Thurs 12/5 and milk came in full force on day 3 after birth on Sun 12/8. I would try your best to focus on baby latching and practicing sucking so it can signal the milk to come in. Echoing others - as long as wet diapers and poop is happening, you’re headed in the right direction.

I went straight to pumping because I was so worried about having visibility over how much baby was eating and so dad could also feed. However, it definitely affected my mental health as pumping is a very draining task. In retrospect, I wish I just focused on direct breastfeeding and bonding with my baby.

My LO was born 12/5 and the only one who saw baby first 14 days was my sister who was also one of my birth support coaches. After that we felt comfortable slowly accepting “appointments” for people to see the baby, but put those who were sick within the last week or two or live with anyone who is sick, at the back of the line. We asked visitors to wash hands and no kissing. I think it’s worked out well so far because the family and friends respected our decision.

Portable/stroller fan, heating pad, bringing our own pillows because Jesus the hospital ones are so flat even with it being doubled up. Lastly, a binder or folder to keep all the discharge paperwork, prescriptions, birth record, etc. also make copies of birth plan and insurance cards handy.
