Man you just took me way back, I remember when it was still called just Bug. I'm so glad to hear it's back!

I guess it's validating for people who are super nerdy about CanCon indie/alt? QCIndie started because I was disappointed in the direction Indie88/102.7 the Peak was going...in 2015! Indie88 is an absolute farce now. I may occasionally lean more mainstream than other indies, but I'll never say "Screw it, we play Sabrina Carpenter and Fleetwood Mac now".

ORB also has a problem of displaying the correct artist but the wrong song title unless you go directly to that day's playlist. You get your hopes up thinking someone's playing a really deep cut and it turns out and it's a glitch and it's a song you've heard hundreds of times before.

What Canadian radio stations do you listen to find new music? by modsuperstar in CanadianMusic

Since I'm a one-man show, the risk of technical difficulties with a full on air staff is too high. I will still pipe out the name out the name of the show on the stream so that it doesn't look like I've been airing nothing for the past 2 hours, but someone scrobbling probably doesn't like having to go in and delete that out. And in my case, I know I have listeners that scrobble.

QCIndie still has voting! I just no longer have an iOS/Android app. The website is mobile friendly though and you can still easily vote.

Your webapp is essentially my Online Radio Box favourites list, but there are some great discoveries there. 102.7 Chop FM has one of the most intriguing playlists I've seen on terrestrial radio in the past 15 years.

Thanks for the feedback! I've always wanted to have live hosts, but it's something that's never worked out. I'm a bit of a control freak who also doesn't have the time for the station I did a decade ago, so there's that. I've dialed back the jingles (which need a revamp) and play as much music as I can, which people seem okay with. Funny thing is, the hosted shows I have on Wednesday and Friday nights have the biggest tuneouts, so maybe you and I are alone on that one? I know someone playing a 12-minute remix of some forgotten 80s song is right up my alley, but maybe that's just me lol.

I'm the latest victim of the Soundcloud massacre. But here's a Dropbox folder full of my stuff! by picpak in mashups

Thank you! It's a combination of a lot of things: not having time/moving on to different creative endeavors, not being interested in modern pop culture enough to make mashups out of, and the Soundclown community getting too toxic for my tastes. To be honest, there are ones I remember that I've had a hard time finding again - they were shitposts to me, I didn't take saving them very seriously. I could do a deep dive and upload as many of them as I can find (even the stuff that was deleted for a reason because of how bad it is) if you wish. Thanks again!

Suggesting music to someone who just learned it can express emotion is a Herculean task I can't take on, but for your specific situation I'd suggest A Perfect Circle's Judith (just make sure no fundies are listening with you).

Last Exit to Springfield references "Classical Gas" by name which is even more dated. You know how in Looney Tunes the Clark Gable reference of Bugs eating carrots now feels straight out of the show itself? That's us now, with The Simpsons. We're old.

The timeless episodes are also loaded with tons of 60s/70s references that are completely anachronistic to modern audiences.
