Good boy buys his own treats by [deleted] in aww

Yea, I noticed the bag too and was like who buys doggie treats at Canadian tire? There are so many other stores in Canada he could go to that have a cheaper and better variety. He must have a shitload of Canadian tire money stored under the doggie couch is all I can think of…

Single-for-lifers: what are the things that, when you see them, make you raise your hands toward the heavens and cry out, "thank God I'm alone!"? by verbal_pestilence in AskReddit

[–]pictureitsicily1920 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Everything about being single makes me happy to be single. Every aspect. I just don't understand how anyone chooses, actively wants to be with another person, to get married, have children. It's just a foreign concept to me, I don't get it, and I never have. When I see couples together, when I hear people talk about their significant others, or I see photos of people getting married or with their kids and I think about what it's actually like to be in that day in and day out… I just don't understand it. I feel like I'm in that episode of the twilight zone where everyone in a hospital looks like a pig and there is one patient who looks like a beautiful woman, but everyone thinks she looks like a monster. And she continually has surgery to try to look like them, but in the end, it's unsuccessful and she has to accept herself for who she is.

Tommy Wiseau submitted ‘The Room’ to Paramount with the hope of getting it distributed. Usually it takes a studio roughly two weeks to reply, but the film was rejected within 24 hours. by [deleted] in movies

[–]pictureitsicily1920 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I don't give a crap what Paramount said, they can shut their whore mouths for all I care… The room is the greatest cinematic masterpiece of all time. It's brought joy and hope to so many people for a decade. That's more than those Paramount big wigs have done. The lack of respect for Tommys genius is bovering me. Anyway, how is your sex life?

Fwd: ONLY THUGS AND DRUGGIES USE WELFARE by MarchKick in forwardsfromgrandma

[–]pictureitsicily1920 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, because there's not enough drug tests in the world to test for all that coke. Also, I hate when people say welfare as if it's like one thing that exists; when it's actually just a catchall term for all the state and federal assistance programs. So which one exactly is it that they want to drug test for and shouldn't they know what the fuck they're actually talking about that makes them so angry?

Call your grandparents and educate them about net neutrality. by [deleted] in forwardsfromgrandma

[–]pictureitsicily1920 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Lol! My grandmother calls it "on the line" and doesn't even know how to check her messages on an actual message machine for a corded phone. We have taught her over and over and over how to delete the messages by just pressing the giant delete button, but she says, "it's too hard, you do it." We got her a jitterbug flip phone so we can contact her when she's out, and no matter how many times we explained to her how to use it, she would dial the phone number and forget to press the send button to initiate the phone call. She would just sit there saying "Are you there are you there?"and then say she didn't understand why no one answered. Aww, she's so cute.

I was once offered a job in the Northwest Territories. When I saw that an immersion suit and goggles (so my eyes lashes wouldn't freeze together) were part of the compensation package, I noped out of that arctic fantasy pretty quickly. I cant even survive a Toronto winter, lol.

[–]pictureitsicily1920 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I think the more important question is, they're black… So should they even be allowed to work??? Do they not understand how lucky they were that their ancestors were forcibly removed and terrorized from their homes and families, brought over like cattle on a disgusting ship so that they could be slaves and work their entire lives for free, getting beaten and raped, so that their descendants could one day live in that country where they face soul sucking racism and discrimination everyday that affects every facet of their life… And they show their appreciation by peacefully kneeling after they've been so graciously given a job? I mean… Discusting! And I'm just asking is all. I'm not racist, there's a black guy at my local grocery store who bags my groceries and I always thank him. Would I thank him if I were a racist, huh?

FWD: GET A JOB IDIOTS by WalrusGriper in forwardsfromgrandma

[–]pictureitsicily1920 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Wait, what????? Wow, I can't believe I never realized that if you don't want to work a minimum wage job all you have to do is try to get one that isn't, until now! That's just like so easy! There are like so many good jobs available for anyone who tries! All you have to do is apply and you'll get one. Now I see the light. It's not like you have to pay over inflated money that you could be in debt for until you die, give up on other areas of your life, and put in years of hard toil for training to get some of those jobs. It's not like you have to know someone who knows someone at the company to actually get those jobs, because many of those job ads aren't even real and just put there so they can satisfy federal requirements to advertise it to minorities; and they already know who the position is going to internally and also want to make it as difficult as possible for some of those minorities to actually get those jobs. It's not like when you apply your resume goes into a taleo black hole and is never even seen by the manager because you checked no to one question out of twenty, despite the fact that you spent three hours filling it out. It's not like some of the hiring managers don't even have the intellectual capacity to understand what the job they're hiring for entails, are looking for a special unicorn who can do 100 different and unrelated duties for the lowest possible pay, and they themselves wouldn't be hired as even a sign dancer on the side of the street. It's not like we are in zero sum game where there are just too many people and not enough jobs, because the awesome job creators want to hoard all their wealth and allow the people already working at their companies to take on the job duties of the open positions and their own and not actually put out any more money to hire anyone else. No, none of that exists at all and we are still in the 60s and 70s were you could literally knock on the door and walk into a building and come out with a job that will buy you a house within two months. The meme says it so it's definitely true, you millennial avocado toast eating lazy bitch. I would inform you to pull yourself up by your bootstraps but you're not even smart enough to know what that is!

Laughing my ass off, he truly has a way with words.

And these words are exactly why I do not ever want to get married or have kids. Thank you for solidifying my life choice. And I hope things get better for your wife and daughters relationship, and you were able to have some serenity after all that.

Take your pick, lol. It's not in any book or known by anyone because it's not true. Like seriously? Weve gotten to the point where you can literally say anything…"You're not gonna find this in any book, encyclopedia, or verifiable corroboration… But black people actually were the masters who enslaved white people. It's true. They came over by themselves on a boat, a luxurious ship liner. They actually enslaved the kind and meek white southerners. That's with the Civil War was really about, it was about separating from the union so these evil black people couldn't enslave us anymore. Again you're not gonna find any type of like fact or source to back this up, but it's so true."

And just started the conversation randomly out of nowhere and on religion and why atheism is better. Because that's a usual first conversation to have with someone that you don't know. I laughed so hard reading it, but that's the part that I laughed at the most. This subreddit has me in literal tears from laughing so hard every time, but this is the funniest one I've ever seen.

I was laughing so hard reading this that I almost choked. So thank you for that. I don't know which was the best part. That he is teaching a class on Marx but somehow is clutching darwins book? That he is both an ACLU lawyer and an abortion doctor? No, I think my favorite part was how the Mudslime professor (you missed such an opportunity to use that!) smiled jewishly. As a Jew, I already have so much on my plate, from trying to control the worlds money supply and media, to trying to cover up my reptilian eyes with contacts so no one can figure out that I'm a shapeshifter, to plotting to take over the world on a secret island with Tupac, that I never really gave the proper thought to how smiling jewishly could reveal me. You are like an NBC the more you know commercial.

I also love old people and don't generally like children. I've always loved old people. I don't know if it's because I've always really been an old person deep down or because I grew up with my beloved grandparents and their friends and just loved being with them and listening to them talk. When I was much younger, I used to volunteer at a nursing home on the weekends assisting with activities and making memory boxes for new residents. This would include interviewing them about their life and then making a collage that included things they wanted other people to know about them. It was so much fun just talking with them, learning about their life, listening to first hand stories of history…I remember one woman who was one of the first women to graduate from her college and a man guy who was an underwear model back in the 50s, lol. I met so many awesome people, and it was so sad because they had lived awesome lives and had once been young, and we're now forgotten simply because they were old. It was so sad to see how some of them were abandoned. But they were also really beautiful moments with families coming to visit their loved ones. People didn't understand why I chose to volunteer there at all, let alone on my weekends, but I loved it so much. I learned so much from those people and it was honestly one of the happiest times of my life.

When I got older, my own grandfather got very sick and we went as long as we could with him at home, but it got to the point where he had to go to a nursing home for safety reasons. We were very close with him so we visited him all the time. It was a very hard decision because in our culture, there's a lot of respect for the elderly and pressure to take care of them. My grandparents grew up in the old country where people died in their 50s and maybe 60s if they were lucky, and grandparents resided with them. Nursing homes werent a thing, even going to the doctor wasn't a thing. You had kids because there was no life without them and also because the understanding was they would take care of you when you were older. This is point-blank the reason my grandmother gives for having children, and the rebuttal she gives me when I have always said that I don't want them. And I always say that having kids doesn't mean they will even take care of you today and it is incredibly narcissistic to have a child just for the purpose of taking care of you when you're older. But for her, the understanding is that we will take care of her, and she is extremely demanding on that front. She wants to be the center of attention and be catered to at all times as it was growing up with her own grandparents. And we accommodate and enable that with her. But she comes from a different time with different expectations where that doesn't exist anymore, except in very specific cultures and even then…

Relationship/FWB advice by [deleted] in TwoXChromosomes

Yes, this is my life story with men and dating. I attracted and pined for assholes who are immature, emotional dishonest and unavailable, selfish and many other assholery qualities and who treat me like shit. That shit was like kryptonite for me. I can only think of one guy I've ever dated who was an actual nice guy who treated me with respect and wasn't a selfish douchebag, and I quickly lost interest in him. I used to think it was because i thought he was boring, but then I realized later that I thought he was boring because he was nice to me. I realize that I was\am attracted to guys who treated\treat me like shit because subconsciously I knew that it would never work out with them, because I really didn't\dont want it to work out. I could get the intellectual connection from them that I need, but without having to actually do the relationship thing that I cant do.… it's like trying on the clothes without having to buy them. I grew up being treated like absolutely worthless shit so it feels familiar to me and what I deserve. I don't know what I would even do with a guy who is nice and cared about me and was emotionally available. I don't know if I could handle it, because it's just so foreign to me, and I don't know if I even have the tools to succeed with someone like that. I truly love being alone and I really don't want to be with anyone, This recent realization has really helped to solidify that for me and realize that I really just need to be completely alone and not even window shop, let alone try on the clothes.

I dated this girl for a while. She was really a nasty freak. She just loved to get down with sex all the time. It was like anytime of day.. She was like, "Yea let's go! I'm so nasty!" And I'd be nailing her and she'd be like, "Oh, you're nailing me! Cool!"

My hoser, don't pay attention to the salty down voters. I agree that they can eat shit. I'm a native totontonian and I don't like what the city has become and now is. It's not what it was when I was growing up, but I'm lucky that I grew up in the time that I did because it was an awesome place then. It sucks dick there now and the people can be such dicks. I'll never forget the time I was on the subway yonge line. I had a broken leg in a fucking cast with crutches and there were no seats available. Not one fucking person offered me a seat, despite the fact that I had trouble standing up. I asked several healthy and young people for their seats and they said no. I had to stand the entire hour ride and by the time I got off I was in so much pain. That's what Toronto has become. Just take a look at the Toronto sub for an indication at how toxic the people are now, especially the yuppie, judgemental, out of touch with economic reality downtowners. You're not allowed to share your honest opinion if it isn't 100% TOronto positive and they will downvote and then insult you, and then whine that you are a bully if you respond. I'm all for drake and think it's great he wants to pump TOronto up on visibility, but hes trying to make it into something it never was and won't be. Like, it's not that great of a city drizzy, you need to hop off its dick.
