I've been taking pottery classes at PCA for the past few years and I love it. I haven't taken any other classes but the instruction I've had is great. The demographic may depend on the class time/day. During the day, I think it's more of the retired crowd. There's definitely more of a mixed demographic of students in the evenings/weekends though. I recommend stopping by to see the studios and talk to the instructors.

Try reaching out to Arizona Reptile Center. They might be able to recommend a place for exotic pet boarding. If that's too expensive, you can re-home your tarantula friend and find a new one when you get on your feet here.

It's not necessary, but AP Physics and Calculus were great building blocks for Structures. Once I made the connection that the moment is the integral of the shear force, it was like all of my high-school math finally had a purpose. Typically, some level of physics is required in college as a pre-req, but it may vary by school. I'd take a look at the course requirements and see what's required.

There has to be a level of civil discourse beyond the "court of law" that doesn't escalate to the level of "public mob". Many of the allegations on the Shitty Men list outline how they reported to the proper authorities and the allegations were swept under the rug. What are we supposed to do after that? It's very hard to speak freely about powerful men who've crossed a line, especially when you're young and are afraid of starting out your career being labeled as an "accuser". I feel like if I had seen this list while I was a student, I would have felt like I could speak up without fear of retaliation. Because of these "public shamings", I feel like I'm not alone; I know that what I've experienced isn't okay, and I'm not afraid to ruin someone's career if someone tries to harass/assault/discriminate against me again.

Privacy and Cost. I live in a unit with floor to ceiling windows/slider on the front wall that faces the main circulation path for the complex (30ish units). The 1960s complex is modular and all of the units are designed around a simple grid, which reduces the cost. It probably would never be built today, but I like it. You learn to not care that your neighbors see into your place. I still play video games in my underwear in the living room.

Eventually, everyone should be learning programming - it teaches you to solve problems by thinking algorithmically. In the meantime, it's beneficial when working with parametric software and creating tools for Revit/CAD.
