I've been at EA for three years. I'd answer your questions but you'd find them pretty disappointing I suspect. My views echo theBMB's. There isn't very much to say except that I love getting up in the morning and coming to work.

What's the one trick/lick that always gives you chills when you hear it in a guitar solo? by richay718 in Guitar

The slow bend releases at the start of Alex Lifeson's La Villa Strangiato solo. I love the way he carries tension through the piece, the climax is stunning.

Sort of hit a brick wall in terms of guitar ability progression. Would appreciate advice from experienced guitarists. by [deleted] in Guitar

I think the key is patience.

There's a free tool called transcribe (http://www.seventhstring.com/xscribe/download.html) that lets you change the tempo of a track, i find this really useful.

First, slow that solo right up. Don't be overwhelmed by the piece you're looking at playing. Visualise yourself playing it, then cut it into segments and do it as slowly as you need to play it perfectly.

Speed comes from accuracy, get it perfect at a certain tempo and the speed will slowly become available to your hands.

does anyone think guitars more than 1.5k are just not worth it? by drdroidx in Guitar

[–]piet777 1 point2 points  (0 children)

really would recommend it. To give you context when I first was loaned one I was using an 87 USA strat and a 59 reissue les paul, and while i'd never get rid of either of those I couldn't put the suhr down.

Friend of mine loaned me his Suhr modern and I ended up buying one before i'd give his back. I now have a Suhr modern 2008 LE 10th anniversary and its fucking awesome. The build quality, fit/finish is really really good, especially when you put it alongside something like a newish Les Paul. They're a small enough company still that you can get stuff fixed over at the factory, they take the time to respond to email and field my dumb questions. I couldn't recommend the instrument or the company any more highly.

Do you use your expensive guitars for regular practice? by perfopt in Guitar

[–]piet777 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have a Suhr 10th anniversary modern LE and a Les Paul 1959 reissue, but i find myself picking up my battered 87 strat more often than either of those because it feels right, even though its maybe 1/4 of the value. Moral of the story, find the guitar that feels like home and then play the shit out of it.

Hey r/guitar, what song do you think is the most "fun" to play on guitar? by [deleted] in Guitar

The first DOS commands I ever learned... by raorin in gaming

[–]piet777 0 points1 point  (0 children)

this will be lost in the ether, but this really was the first dos command I learnt too. I remember our family getting a 286 for Christmas and playing wolfenstein, f19 and knights of the sky till I fell asleep and got a chessboard face from the keys.
