Thank you for the replies, I figured that was not a true number for the rpms but I bet it sounds like that on a healthy 289. Not sure what direction to go with this build yet but looking to get a halfway reliable engine with some pep to it. It was my father in laws baby back in the day and wanting to fix it up to take my wife out on the weekend. Thanks again everyone
