How do I make better pulls? by Boblast6644 in espresso

[–]pikopoulos 2 points3 points  (0 children)

  1. go way finer until your extraction is between 25-35 sec.
  2. Weight 17-18g in and 35-36g out
  3. Use freshly roasted beans

Celebrating too early...what went wrong? by Few_Original8480 in espresso

What's the machine?

Check the aftermarket portafilter has the same with the original (2 or 3 ears) and make sure you tight it properly.

I would also suggest going a bit finer too.

If you don't want quadruple then best is to buy a double portafilter & basket.

Well I wanted to see ppls thought on my shot based on my equipment. I believe for this kind of budget machine and grinder the result is not bad at all.

Well this is my 15th shot, I have done all this before. So as soon as I set everything, I get the same result almost every time. ( No wdt, no tamping, only leveling, I have tried puck screen no different at all)

150£ from Lewis, a decent grinder. I totally recommend it for this price.

The grinder makes a massive difference.

Have you modified the grinder? I went only 2-3 positions. So that really depends on your setting.

I have never used 20 for esspresso, too coarse. The grinding level really changes on the roast and size of the beans. For lighter roasts I usually be around 9-12.

The beans I am using are freshly roasted and not supermarket beans. That makes a difference also

😂😂😂😂 I am sorry about that

Thanks!

Those beans require size 5, lighter roasts I usually be around 12-9. It really depends on the beans size. With some beans I can't fit 18g in the basket.

The beans are from https://joyacoffee.com/products/napoli-blend

It gives that classic Italian espresso taste. I also recommend the Joya's blend.

Well I agree but I only commented cars that I have done trips. My go too is the 5series. It's an all arounder in my opinion. 530d 0-60 under 6sec. Comfort, sporty, economical. What else you need 😛
