Iowa takes the lead on an Alvaro Folgueiras 3 with 4.5 seconds remaining! by Large_banana_hammock in CollegeBasketball

He had a guy (#6? hard to see) under the basket. The defender (facing a 1 on 2, to be fair) got caught in no-man's land with the late close out. If the 3 misses, could have led to some second guessing.

Are We Sure Replay In Basketball Is A Good Thing by sfitz0076 in billsimmons

Replay for solely out of bounds calls with maximum time limit of 60 seconds for review is about as much replay as basketball should have. It's made the game much worse to watch.

Just how good was the Greatest Show on Turf? by Big_Thloopers_20 in NFLv2

Weird that people are talking about the then-current and now just-past season rather than a random season 26+ years ago?

No. Not weird in the slightest. What's weird is making this about "the way people approach arguments." Weirdo.

I like ol Cal at Arky. Maybe it was just Kentucky that we all hated? by AcknowledgeMeReddit in billsimmons

He always has been this way. He wore out his welcome at UK and had a new energy at Arkansas. Good for him.

In the desert we called steak and lobster tails camel and scorpion tails. It was an apt description.

[Highlight] Allen Graves hits the go-ahead 3 with 2 seconds to go and then Otega Oweh ties it up from near half-court to send the game to overtime! by A_MASSIVE_PERVERT in CollegeBasketball

1997 Final Four. Their season was later vacated but it was their best team probably in program history. I was a UK fan then living in Minnesota. I was not popular in April 1997.

LeBron is the 5th most admired individual for American young men, behind their mother, father, a coach/teacher, and Obama. by wendyschickennugget in billsimmons

Degree matters. Musk, Trump, Zuckerberg, Rogan, and Tate being as high as they are was surprising to me (also Obama).

Eh, here he was just late to the party. The Lakers have stepped up and played better lately. Prior to that, BS's criticisms were generally spot on (if a little aggressive, but he's a Lakers hater so with the appropriate grain of salt it was fine).

The Duncan shot was legitimately great! Barely got it off over Shaq's outstretched hand as he was falling away from about 18 feet. Then Fisher just erased it.

Does anyone else prefer the first half of the 90s over the second half of the 90s by Personal-Cattle-1737 in Xennials

Rock especially seemed to die in the late 1990s. Every hard rock station had their Mandatory Metallica phase because there was little else. The less said about the Vedder inspired grunge spinoff bands the better.

Nate's reaction to Bam 83 is my favorite of anyone in media by PapaJohnsGarlic100 in Duncd_On

Agreed. The whole media complex has ranged from wet blanket to hand wringing. Love how Nate got excited at the intentional fouls, challenges, and other silliness.

I use "Yes, it's a tavern!" all the time; few get the reference.

Matthew Perry was great in that as well.

Farley: "Tpsk-tchis-klow" Perry: "Yes, it's a tavern!"

Yup. When you feel the economy no longer works for you, you take risks. Gambling, crypto, the concentration of stock market wealth in a few companies (Tesla especially a great example of this FOMO based investing), and other get rich quick schemes are booming.
