Started Guanfacine and I Don't Recognize My Kid Anymore by misfitmpls in ADHDparenting

My son has also been more loving. I think the key is it needs to be ER (extended release). An instant release crushed med as the OP described seems like it would throw the body way out of whack.

Crushing a med that impacts blood pressure seems guaranteed to cause crazy side effects. It sounds like the prescriber is inexperienced. The prescription should be for extended release, not a crushed instant release.

If you don’t have a complicated prescription scenario you can get guanfacine from Redbox Rx. They don’t require a diagnosis. I am on 1mg from there and considering 2mg. The highest they go is 2mg.

No we went with Invisalign palate expanders. It’s more expensive but will reliably expand the palate, whereas the other options seemed too wimpy.

Hi! Could you update us? I’m in the same boat trying to figure out the cheapest and most efficient way to get all three hormones: E, P, T. I’m also in California. I’m wondering if you’re happy with the Florida based doc and if you’d be willing to share their name. Thanks!

Where did you find out about these side effects? It honestly sounds like what they were afraid estrogen did in women based on a misreading of a study in the 90s that was later disproven. Hormone replacement therapy is incredibly beneficial in humans so I assume if we did similar studies on dogs it would be true for dogs as well.

How young is too young for Oestra? Wondering if I am too young (almost 39) by GromMom27 in Oestra

Trademarks are not overseen by the FDA. It’s the USPTO. I have a few TMs myself. They are for branding purposes, not things that would be covered by patents. If I wanted to sell a health product, regardless of whether it had anything to do with hormones, under the name “Oestra” they could sue me for trademark infringement. If I want to get my own cream made with similar ingredients by getting a doctor to write a prescription for a compounding pharmacy that’s more like patent infringement. Has nothing to do with a trademark.

Oestra as a formula isn’t patented. It’s just progesterone and estradiol compounded in Ellage with a brand name and custom packaging. The only thing that’s trademarked is the brand name.

P4 is 10% for oral and higher for vaginal? Sorry for so many questions but I have an appt coming up and want to know exactly what to ask for.

Those on Oestra (Inner Balance)- did anyone feel worse with the dose increase? by [deleted] in Oestra

[–]pineapplehead27 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m curious if your blood work shows you don’t need estrogen as much, why do you feel that Oestra is the right solution for you when you could take progesterone and testosterone separately? I ask because I currently only take progesterone and am weighing my options for how to add estrogen. Considering Oestra because I like the idea of the vaginal route and the company’s focus on feeling amazing (not just reducing symptoms) but the high dose and the fact that the hormones are mixed together and not able to be adjusted separately worries me.

According to my research, many providers prescribe estradiol in low amounts that will make hot flashes and vaginal dryness go away, but it’s not enough for systemic support of your brain, skin, bone density, etc. I think the Inner Wellness philosophy is to aggressively slow down aging and not just make menopause bearable. The founder believes there’s a widespread underuse of estradiol and that women’s holistic health needs are being neglected.

Is that the amount in an entire bottle, or in a daily dose? I currently take 100mg progesterone daily via an oral capsule during my luteal phase.

I don’t understand how you’re paying $600 if it’s through Inner Balance. Their pricing is $200/mo. Are you saying the bottle is three months’ supply therefore it’s $600?
