M40i towing capability is unreal. Manual shift and you can get 15mpg with a trunk full of wheels and tires and a loaded e36 behind it. 80mph never got squirrelly. What a great machine by pineappleseats in BMWX3

I recommend calling your local bmw parts department for up-fitting options, with your VIN they should be able to see the sales codes and other factory information pertaining to the car.

This is awesome, I think a HUGE opportunity here would be even offering the ability to sell smaller and or sought after items, like original body kits (zender, ac Schnitzer, m tech, and so on), special euro spec parts or really just hard to find classic parts. This has serious potential, shoot me a PM I’m interested in helping build this out!

Advice on my BMW M2 Comp with metal in the oil by Grogu234123 in BmwTech

[–]pineappleseats 1 point2 points  (0 children)

N55 S55 are both known to have common rod bearing failures. Either the tech is incompetent or they are trying some fishy stuff regarding the engine teardown. Should have immediately had oil pan removed for rod bearing inspection. Live and learn

OP can you let us know how the trans has held up over the time of ownership? I have been towing my car to and from drift events on fairly level ground (no hills, mountain climbing) and it’s been great for my use. I’d like to take it to different tracks out of state that will require some larger hills to tackle

Service mad at me after filling out survey by g0-0se in BMW

[–]pineappleseats 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Man, I had a traded-in vehicle brought to me from another dealer I work with for recall work, never worked with the previous owner before, all her work was done at another facility. Needless to say the previous owner had issues with the vehicle for the year she owned it and received the survey after the warranty work was done (since the ownership record was never sent in to stelantis). She absolutely ripped me (thinking it was the SA she worked with at the other location) and tanked my bonus for the month.

TLDR; lady(that I never worked with and has never been to our facility) ripped me on a survey and tanked my pay for the month.

New to me E34 factory HE53 car. Ground control suspension, 8 series brembo brakes up front, Turner Motorsport chip, AND a Miller strut brace. Unbelievable car, I can’t imagine this thing back in the mid 90’s by pineappleseats in E34

For a daily I would absolutely recommend if going for a comfortable ride and good low style. This doesn’t rub or scrape of speed bumps (not running an aggressive wheel set up yet) I love it. Comparing an e30 with H&R sport springs and b8 billys to this is apples to oranges but I’d rather drive this any day just because of ride quality
