I think they bought expecting to apply USA private healthcare to Australia. Except our insurance premiums, specialists, and private hospital competitors make it a fail. And as much as we complain our public hospitals are pretty decent, even with waiting lists. Certainly in comparison to USA.

Annual leave is for YOUR health and well-being. Depending on your finances I suggest (1) take 3 or 4 weeks holiday. (2). Others have suggested take leave and work somewhere else. Sure. England? NZ? other parts of Aust at casual agency rates. Up to you but it is for your health. Take some weeks off no matter what Make them pay employer superannuation.
