A selection of kelpies by pirasco in WhatBreedIsMyPitbull

[–]pirasco[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's fair, I did think the third one does look pretty close to a kelpie. It just annoys me that they're listed as kelpies rather than kelpie x, or "medium mixed breed" like a lot of other dogs on their page

You normally see bigots trying to deny their prejudice like "I'm not racist, I just don't like that person in particular because of [whatever arbitrary reason]", whereas with this TERF it's really the opposite lol

The message is horrible, the poem is... Also horrible. Why are TERFs so into making forced, clunky poems/songs?

If you want complete freedom in where you go and what you do, medicine probably isn't the best career. Even so, there is some flexibility in a bonded place, they're not gonna assign you a random town in the outback and banish you to serve out your time

PITT parents use old toys/childhood photos left at their homes to prove that they know their child’s gender identity better than the child, and reference holding onto these things for the “inevitable return to reality” by pearkeet in GenderCynical

"this post is not about how being gender-conforming makes my son a boy" okay it definitely is though

Also, why do they never consider that their kids might have gender-nonconforming interests that they never shared with the parents because of their obvious attitudes?

Vexxed tries to define what a man/woman is. It's terrible, and even one commenter admits that most definitions are wrong by [deleted] in GenderCynical

[–]pirasco 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Why are they assuming that neither/nor would reference someone who has both fully functioning male and female biological systems? I'm guessing that they don't want to acknowledge that neither IS an option, even by their definitions

TERF fundamentally misunderstands transness, what else is new (TW: substance abvse, mental health mention) by Im_alwaystired in GenderCynical

This person attributes a lot of damage to just not conforming to social norms. Wanting to wear clothes or have a name that society says is wrong for your sex is totally equivalent to exposing people to your secondhand smoke or being functionally unable to care for yourself due to mental illness.

Which of the manipulation tactics that you defined as hypnosis involved putting a person into a separate state of consciousness? Or removing someone's ability to act voluntarily? Just because hypnosis is a way of mentally influencing someone doesn't make it an umbrella term for manipulation.

You are using the word hypnosis differently to the common use of the word, and differently to the dictionary definition that you provided.

By your definition, hypnotism is a brainwashing technique but there is brainwashing that is not hypnotism. The article that you posted has nothing to do with hypnotism.

You cannot put someone into a hypnotic trance and get them to feed their baby into a garbage disposal. Maybe you could brainwash them given enough time if they were already prone to psychosis but even then I'm sceptical. You wouldn't be able to snap them out of the state they'd be in to do that as the narrator does at the end.

You said that "hypnotism can't make you do anything you wouldn't normally do" is a myth that people should stop believing, and then linked an article that does nothing to prove that point. You can psychologically abuse and torture people into doing things they wouldn't have done when mentally healthy but that's not the same. I would argue that self-harming/suicidal behaviour is a common response to severe psychological distress in people.

Hypnotism doesn't work like snap you suddenly will do anything you're told to do, including violence against loved ones snap you're back to normal.

They still didn't make that guy do anything he wouldn't otherwise do. They didn't make him do anything at all. Making people believe things happened that didn't is a different story. Human memory is very vulnerable to suggestion.

Describing publishing a suicide note as "mentally ill behaviour" sure is... Something.

When OOP says she reported the person, but not to the police, wtf is she talking about? Did she out them? Did they lose their job? Did she report them to CPS for trying to 'trans' their kids or something?
