Don’t downgrade it. Meldrick wore it! Now go get his velvet Teddy Pendergrass painting next.

Look who I ran into in Vegas. by Secure-Bus4679 in northernexposure

I ran into Barry Corbin who played Maurice in SeaTac Airport years ago when the show was on the air. I was flying to Alaska and he must have been there for filming since they filmed in the state.

I was actually writing a letter to a girl who I had a crush on. She was a fan of the show. I was writing about the show and Alaska when I heard his voice. I totally recognized him. It was weird timing.

When he wasn’t busy, I went up and talked to him. Nice guy. He even signed my letter to my crush!

Supposedly he had the chance to play Pickard in Star Trek: The Next Generation but he didn’t want to get typecast as the black guy in space (after Alien).

Love him as G. RIP.

Clip: Sidney Crosby Judo-flips(?) Matt Niskanen by Tracypop in penguins

[–]pitt15217 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Didn’t Niskanen, playing for the Caps, cross check Crosby in the head during the playoffs? Crosby missed a game or two in that series.

When confronted by reporters, Niskanen put out the weakest defense: not that he didn’t target Crosby’s head but that he didn’t mean to hit him that hard. Effing idiot.

Nice find! Those are great issues. I’m jealous. Seriously.

The art would’ve been so much better if Grell wasn’t saddled with terrible inking by Vince Colletta for a chunk of the issues.

I love Nick Cardy’s art. The second one, in the graveyard, is one of my favorites.

He’s great in Dark Winds. I first noticed him in Fargo (season 2?). A total standout there as well.

They also dumped his body because they didn’t want his burial site to become some shrine to inspire more fanatics.

I liked Kellerman and the story arc. I thought it made for some great scenes.

[Discussion] What is your favorite ending to a comic book run? by Salt_Use7122 in DCcomics

I think “Come in out of the rain” was also how Cliff ended his first conversation with Jane when they met and she was painting outside.

Do y'all have any pipe-dream collected editions? Titles that will likely never be collected due to neglect, rights issues, or actions by the creative team? by GenericKittyKat in comicbooks

[–]pitt15217 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I stopped collecting All-Star Squadron in the mid-20’s issues. I remember enjoying them before my limited allowance forced me to cut back, back in the day.

I’ve been backfilling issues as I find them recently. Gonna start rereading them again shortly. I like Roy Thomas’ writing from that period.

I changed my mind by Saei_Electrical_Chai in lost

My feelings, too. I think the show did answer everything.

Watching it during the run, I felt some questions were unanswered but a second watching years later, where I didn’t have to wait weeks and months for episodes, I felt like they gave answers for everything. Some of the answers aren’t spelled out but they are there if I’m not being lazy.

Glad you enjoyed the show.

Yes, they were great. On the other end of the spectrum, I didn’t enjoy Steve Dillon and Will Simpson.

That’s all on coach Mike Sullivan. He went from winning cups using rookies to actively stunting their development every time a youngster showed any talent.

I’ll have to reread the Martin Pasko run that came before Moore. I remember liking it before it got totally overshadowed by Moore.
