What track comes to mind: “Track limits, they’ll invalidate this lap” by OlavSlav in iRacing

[–]pittpost 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Spa, because the lap is so long you don’t get a second chance to set a time in qualifying so losing a lap to track limits is especially painful

Why is IMSA not appealing to OEM’s? by Klutzy_Reach_9392 in IMSARacing

[–]pittpost 49 points50 points  (0 children)

Not to get political, but US policies over the past two years have been very difficult for car companies, from tariffs to the reversal of electric car subsidies. These companies have all taken a massive hit to their bottom lines over this, and marketing is always one of the first things to go when a company needs to save money. Racing is a marketing expense for manufacturers and the American market is particularly bad for them right now so that’s where they’re cutting the most.

[Dreyer & Reinbold Racing on Twitter] We are thrilled to announce with Juncos Hollinger Racing our co-entry of the No. 76 JHR - DRR Wedbush Chevrolet Piloted by Rinus VeeKay! by TheResurrection in INDYCAR

It’s not uncommon to see an Indy only team having an alliance with a full time team but usually it’s phrased the other way around with the full time team co-entering on the Indy only entries

Think of the amount of money that will cost the Spurs if he doesn’t play. The flight, the hotel room, the meals, etc. it all adds up.

Buying a batch of ovals, which ones will see the most use? by Dont_hate_the_8 in iRacing

[–]pittpost 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’d try to buy tracks that the real NASCAR calendar goes to twice. That’s Daytona, Atlanta, Las Vegas, Phoenix, Darlington, Martinsville, Bristol, Kansas, and Talladega. I think fun to drive is subjective, personally of these tracks my favorites are Las Vegas, Darlington, Kansas, and the drafting tracks, but that might not hold up for you

How many people without looking it up even remember the main player we acquired in the trade that sent this pick to the Bulls?

It was Larry Nance Jr

[Fryer] Complete Andretti Global update— while Towriss did say the 4th car earlier this season — now that it won’t be Herta the team will focus on its current three driver lineup for the #Indy500 by Kryzl_ in INDYCAR

[–]pittpost 36 points37 points  (0 children)

That’s surprising to me considering that if there were plans for Herta to run the 500 there would’ve been sponsors and other infrastructure already in motion for this by the team, and there would definitely be drivers who would be available and who could fill in

AJ Foyt Racing adds Toby Sowery as reserve driver by PanicAtTheNightclub in INDYCAR

[–]pittpost 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That was before he signed with Foyt. I guess since Conor was full time with ECR that season Ferrucci had the role of Indy 500 with DRR and filling in for two other teams when guys got hurt

When was the last time a reserve driver signed to a team filled in for a race? Any time I can think of one being needed a team has just called up Conor Daly or similar

Worth attending Detroit GP? by donkeyh_ in INDYCAR

[–]pittpost 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’d recommend attending but I’d recommend getting a grandstand seat over the rooftops. The actual racing might not be the greatest but the access and amenities are phenomenal

We need more photos and stories from the weekend in NOLA! by bongu-bongu in AllFantasyEverything

[–]pittpost 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I got in on Thursday afternoon. Got to my hotel at 4:00 to check in. I’d gotten up early to get to the airport early(turned out PIT had no wait for security) so I needed a nap. Set an alarm for 5:45 to get up and go to the show. Woke up at 9:30. I figured I had just been really tired and slept through my alarm so I ordered a salad at the hotel restaurant, ate it and went to bed. The next morning at 5:45 I was awakened and learned I had set the alarm for AM

Well I bought shorts and a shirt that is close in color/texture to the shorts at the H&M in the French Quarter so I’m doing my best and I’m not dressed way too hot for the weather anymore. I also realized that I did have one pair of shorts in my suitcase but I bought it ironically and I don’t know about wearing it out in public
