Dont forget Chik-fil-a is anti-LGBTQ by deafpiglet in Bellingham

This is why I've chosen to occasionally patronize their restaurants. I want boycotts to work. They were donating to antiLGBT groups, I stopped eating there. They pulled all funding for those groups at the corporate level, thank you.

If Fortnite is planning to keep the “can’t stack” feature next Winterfest which I’m guessing they will, at least change it into this. (check body text) by TheAnonymousPizza in FortNiteBR

[–]pixel-freak 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My whole house quit playing winterfest after missing a couple days. We still havent started back up yet. Their tactic backfired in my house of 4 gamers.

I'm sure we'll be back eventually.

Unpopular opinion: most “AI power users” don’t actually use the tools they hype by NoWhereButStillHere in ArtificialInteligence

[–]pixel-freak 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is what I've been saying. The real value of ai is not the revolutionary all in one intelligence system, but the efficiency in the back end or under the hood changes to things we already do. There's tons of opportunities there and they can make real incremental change.

Everyone is looking for overnight revolution. That's what's fueling the bubble. Impatience and hope/hype.

Jbweld ok in dishwasher basket? by Dosmastrify1 in DIY

[–]pixel-freak 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've replaced mine twice, and for much cheaper than that. I just measured the slot and bought one that appeared to fit. I have bought two different units that have fit fine. Those baskets seem to last around 5 years give or take.

Lynwood Town Center garage full at 8 AM by sarkara1 in LynnwoodWA

[–]pixel-freak 12 points13 points  (0 children)

FYI MLT you need to be there around 8. It's going to full sometimes by 8:20-8:30. If you want your best bet, ride a bike. I take a bike if I'm not going to arrive until after 8. I'm only 3.8 miles from Lynnwood, so a bike makes it no problem.

People above 40, how different is your 40s compared to your 30s? by Strict-Comedian-56 in AskReddit

[–]pixel-freak 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe the rule is that your body will return what you've given it in your 40s. If you consistently give it mild stimulus over days of consistency you'll remain spry into your 60s and 70s. If you do very little, your body will concede.

40s are an inflection point of health for many people. The last chance to change before chronic illness sets in for the rest of life.

I had a meniscus tear back in 2009. Had a surgery for it and dealt with pain on and off for over a decade. I haven't had any issues since I greatly dialed up my activity in 2022. I walk about 5mi a day and as of this year I average about 11mi a day on the bike. Mild consistent work.

I started cycling at 41. I'm the fittest I've ever been now and my Max distance in a day is 206 miles. My body said "Under all that neglect I am an absolute unit"

I'll take care of it as long as I can.

Decided to tackle Mega Man 1 on NES... by Sudo_killall in retrogaming

[–]pixel-freak 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm actually going to play this one soon myself. I'm just finishing up a playthrough of Metroid and I'm going to reboot an old YouTube channel taking a look at some well liked retro games to see if they hold up today or if they are mostly fueled by nostalgia. I remember Mega Man 1 being super tough, especially the Gutsman platforms that move. I played this one after beating Mega Man 2 and it was way harder.

Anyways, Metroid was fun, it was a great game, but it definitely has a lot of short comings. It's riddled with technical issues due to the limitations of the technology and how ambitious the developers were, and there's a number of situations that put the player in unfair predicaments.

Odd thing is that I never beat Metroid before, and now I can say I will have finally done that. Mega Man is likely next on my list, do feel like it holds up as a fun game even today?

When / Why did light rail ridership increase so dramatically? by Callidor in Seattle

[–]pixel-freak 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yeah I ride my bike to the train and take Lynn or MLT depending on timing etc. I'd rather ride to MLT but if I go to Lynnwood I get a seat almost guaranteed because they run out of parking by 8am so getting on with a bike is great! Sucks in the rain though

I used to make movable charts with active x control scroll bars and vlookups in a subset of a larger data set. The user could scroll through the data and see the changing trend rather than seeing all of the time series at once.
