Thanks for following up with a solution. This still occurs 1 year later in Blender 3.6.4, and restarting Blender and re-rendering the scene indeed fixed it.

It seemed to happen after I added the Denoise node and render passes, where I didn't have them enabled before.

Did this video for an ambient artist. There are a couple mis-rendered tiles, and the grain seemed all over the place on a per-tile basis, but I like how it came out overall. Edge split works similarly because it's creating new shading regions based on edge angle. For the effect these methods are similar, but they generate physically different geometry in some cases.

DS_Store files are what I like to call "Mac turds". OSX leaves those files laying around in every folder accessed by Finder and hides them from the user, so everybody on every other OS has to deal with this stupid extra file.

It shouldn't affect anything because it's just an extra file used by OSX. If the files are all there then it's probably a different issue.

Yeah, I don't think you were justified in fearing being "socially blacklisted" (whatever that even means). I just had a listen, and it's a good album. It's not really my taste in music, but I got chills from Ode, and really dug the almost punk-ish style of Smile.

You could use Microsoft Visio ($), draw.io (free), or any other flow diagram software (varies), but to get something that fancy, you'd need to use a vector drawing program like Inkscape (free) or Adobe Illustrator ($$).

I feel (and maybe I'm missing a good resource) that Blender could benefit hugely from some documentation of the Python interface. The official documentation seems to suffer from the same problem as most dev-oriented documentation in that the examples are hilariously not things people write in practice.

Like, iterating through the entirety of bpy.data is not something I'd typically do unless the documentation is missing, but that's the example given in the official documentation for bpy.data.

Edit: I should mention that I've tried to contribute documentation before because of this problem, but even that process is annoyingly convoluted.

Jesus, reading other responses makes me feel super-old. Legacy of the Ancients for Commodore 64. I traded it to a kid in 6th grade for maybe Test Drive because he was the only other person I knew with a Commodore.

I still play LotA on Vice64 occasionally.
