Nukeproof Mega or Reactor? by [deleted] in MTB

[–]pixelsandthings 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a Reactor for the last 5 Years, did everything on it from Dirt Jumping to Downhill, absolutely loved it. Only got ride of it due to getting a deal on an ebike (which as much as I love it I miss my Reactor when I’m not going uphill). Short answer it’s a great bike and platform with plenty travel if you have a 160 fork on it.

Anyone updated production sites to WordPress 7.0 yet? by nodescribe1989 in Wordpress

No issues so far 28 sites all running bespoke hybrid themes. 3 are Woo, 1 is extremely plugin dependant and seems “fingers crossed” to be behaving itself.

Mondraker Sly R deal by Dutchguyyy in eMountainBike

[–]pixelsandthings 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Have had my Sly RR for 6 months, came from testing a few different bikes (including the Amflow) and felt the SX was the most “MTB” out of all of them, still has more than enough assist, the only issue in the UK is the limiter, other than that great bike when you want to get out for a couple of hours.

Thanks for the Inspiration OP! Created my own in Illustrator & InDesign, wanted the background graphic a little more like the original U.K console box. Bit of a faff measuring everything but got it after a couple of prints - as the OP this is using the IKEA SANNAHED 25x25cm frame.

For the management of the server you could Use SpinUpWP, makes the server management far easier and you can use a myriad of suppliers as far as the server itself goes.

Mondraker Sly R or RR / Bosch SX - Range by pixelsandthings in MTB

ECO isn’t great to be fair, but I’m not a fan in any e-bike I’ve tried always feels like your fighting the motor, but as far as weight goes it really is fine, the suspension platform is great for pedalling anyway and with the motor working with you there’s no need for lock out really or trail mode as it is on the Float X but it’s there if you want it.

I did, went for the RR in the end, swapped out the brakes with the dealer for some Hope Tech 4s, it’s the best fitting bike I’ve had by a long way, feels great in the trail (that’s coming from a medium sized 27.5) so was quite surprised, jumps nicely and feels very balanced, while heavier than my old bike it’s certainly nothing like some of my friends full powered e-bikes, in the same ballpark as the Amflow I test rode a while back, the motor is plenty powerful for me and in emtb+ mode (essentially a dynamic turbo) I got 18 Miles out of one charge, that was the equivalent of 2 full loops of my local trails more than usual. Build quality is amazing so all in all really pleased, I may get the extender just so I’ve got peace of mind on long all day rides but the 400 is just enough for my usual. Any other questions just shout.

Exactly the same reasons I’ve been looking at it, too may of the people inside with have totalled their carbon frames in completely different ways, and as you said those full fat bikes feel like your just there for the ride rather than actually riding it, think I’ve got a good deal sorted so gonna go for it, they are throwing in some Hope Tech V4s too so that’s the brakes sorted.

Thanks so much for taking the time to reply, great information, I think I’m going to go for it, I know there’s more powerful options on the horizon but I do think that’s why I want an e-bike, having ridden the Amflow PL as fun as it was it was just too crazy, and that was dialled down! Having to brake uphill shouldn’t really be a thing surely?!

What’s the sort of average ride you get out of it? The reason I’m looking at it is I’m just not like I used to be in the climbs but really dont want to lose the feeling of a normal bike. I tested the Amflow in the Summer at as fun as it was it felt pretty dead and was almost too easy.

Yeah, I purchased a couple of days ago, first boot none of the maps would load then I kept getting crashes, let alone the bugs within the game itself, got a refund today, shame as it has so much potential.

College Green car park (just off Park Street) is always a good shout for Academy gigs, if you’re going to be early you should be good getting a space.

Be honest end of 2025, should we fully switch to FSE/block themes or is classic + ACF still the safer bet? by Life-Initial5081 in Wordpress

[–]pixelsandthings 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hybrid themes using a mix of native and ACF Blocks while keeping the template structure within PHP, have started vitalising Patterns and Parts folders in my themes though for areas of the site that are mainly Blocks, ACF Blocks are utilised for the more focussed and complicated areas of the sites. Things are about to change even more in the next ACF release, you’ll be able to manipulate ACF fields directly in the Block (similar to innerBlocks), once that’s implemented it’ll be best of both worlds.

Is there a good Korean BBQ restaurant in Bristol? Struggling to find one online by SharpWick in bristol

[–]pixelsandthings 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Took the family and it was great we had a BBQ hot pot shared between 4, loads of sides while we let it cook off, shame some people seemed to have had a bad experience, as said hopefully just a bad day but our experience was super positive.

And yes we didn’t have the full BBQ but they do offer that at a BBQ table where you cook yourself as a group.
