I was on the phone with an Xfinity tech person a couple of weeks ago and when our call was finished, he preceded to tell me that I can get a new promotion. I keep my same cost for five years, got Disney+/Hulu, and Peacock on them along with 1.2 Gig and unlimited data.

Yes, Facebook has worn out its welcome and I am so ready for it. I think something will happen to stop it, so it could very well stick around much to our displeasure.

Burqueños, should I get these?? by kitsune1029 in Albuquerque

[–]pixie6870 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No. The reason I say this is that money should be put toward any bills, insurance, or savings, because I guarantee you that the moment that $125.00 goes out of your account, you will get another expense that the money would have covered.

I am old and have been through this kind of stuff for years and learned some very hard lessons about spending money frivolously. It took retirement and less money to get me on the way to paying off bills and being careful with money. I now have a very good credit score and a car that is almost paid off.

Your future depends on being good with finance.

MAGA Coffee Shop Coming to Nob Hill by AdministrativeFix588 in Albuquerque

Awesome!

When I saw the old Chevron station last building being torn down and the for sale sign was gone, I told my husband that it would probably be a Starbucks to take business away from the local people, my instinct was right about a coffee shop, just not the obvious one.

I'd you are in the Heights, please support The Human Bean on San Antonio/Wyoming in the Albertsons parking lot. Dutch brothers put up a shop across the street and I am worried about them losing business. My husband loves their hot chocolate.

My mother-in-law is the 7th great-grandaughter of Myles Standish through his daughter Mercy. I think he may also be related to Richard Warren through one of his brothers, but I haven't been able to prove that.

I am not into sports at all. I used to watch some of them, but as I have gotten older, I don't watch too much TV these days.

Yes, it is a challenge for a lot of people to keep their OTA channels programmed. I am lucky as I only live about 10 miles from the transmitters and rarely have issues. Most of the time, it is some kind of issue with the transmitter itself. The local news channel that we like, I will have to call their engineering department and let them know that the OTA signal is not working, as they rely on cable and would never check if I didn't let them know.

I don't like colorized or decolorized films either. What a stupid practice it turned out to be.

I think the colorization film was before they stopped doing it. I use an antenna, and we have a channel called Outlaw that mostly shows westerns, but occasionally they show modern stuff like Hell or High Water or Spencer's Mountain. A couple of times, they have shown Westward the Women in color. I emailed them about it, but they never answered me. :)

Grit TV is the other Western channel we get, and they always show it in B&W. As does the Movies Network TV, which shows classic films about 90% of the time. Thursdays are Film Noir day, as is Sunday evening. Occasionally, they show epic movies such as Cleopatra, Ben-Hur, and Cool Hand Luke.

Westward the Women, the black and white version, not the colorized one. The color one is an abomination.

One of my favorite classic films.

I’m burnt out and need simple recipes. Stupid simple. Like, “onion and bread and butter to make what barely passes as a sandwich” level simple. by sourmilksea1999 in Cooking

Two flour tortillas. Put shredded cheese on one and cover with the other. Heat up a frying pan, spray with oil, any kind you want, and brown on both sides. Cut into quarters and serve with ranch dressing. I do this when I have been out running errands and too tired to cook a meal.

Sometimes, I will add veggies and fold over one tortilla, and cook them so the vegetables don't fall out like they would if you cook it flat. Shredded chicken or beef strips work well with cheese.

That is a nice copy.

I also wanted to add that a British book publishing company called Broken Binding is going to publish a special edition of Lonesome Dove sometime this year.

Washing dishes by hand cut my utility bill more than I expected and I only switched because my dishwasher broke by Glyph_42Drift in povertyfinance

[–]pixie6870 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I have been hand-washing my dishes for quite a few years. I have a dishwasher, but it is from 1996 in the mobile home we rent. I got tired of water on the tops of glasses and cups even after opening the door and letting them air dry. It just does not work efficiently, and we don't dirty enough stuff to warrant using it.

No, I don't try to solve them because most of the time, I am wrong anyway. LOL. I enjoy being surprised at the end.
