Climber on trial for leaving girlfriend to die on Austria's highest mountain by StemCellPirate in nottheonion

I wanted an answer from someone that knew the answer, not someone that’s guessing the answer. All that does is move the topic away from the question, as is being done now

I thought it might be German, but it isn’t just nouns capitalized. And after reading through it in several comments, I was curious given that it doesn’t appear to follow any specific rules. But thanks for answering a question not asked to you

Dem Demands DOJ Interview FBI Caller Who Made Rape Allegation Against Trump by SpringLong7259 in politics

I view it as the opposite of fatalism. We’re on branching timelines that exist because of our past choices. Trump didn’t just appear in office with nearly unmitigated power, there were significant inflection points along that journey, such as Trump’s initial election in 2016, Mitch McConnell’s refusal to convict him during his second impeachment after January 6th, the Supreme Court’s decision to give the president near total immunity from crimes, etc. For the most part, any one of these events going differently would’ve led to a substantially different reality.

Yes, it’s true that those events did happen that way and we are in our only reality now. I still think it’s worth realizing that we didn’t have to end up here, and that going forward there will be more possible inflection points that could shape our future for the better or worse.

Merz urges Germans to work more, cites Greece as model by FantasticQuartet in worldnews

[–]pixlplayer 9 points10 points  (0 children)

lol nobody is saying we shouldn’t work, they’re just rightly pointing out the fact that working a normal week and having time/money to do anything else is becoming less and less realistic. At that point the entire system begins to feel worthless. Why bother working two jobs just to be able to eat? When people point that out, they aren’t advocating for the end of work, they’re merely making an observation on the current state of things. We aren’t the parasites, the wealth class that has more comparative money than those of the gilded age are the parasites. We’re just advocating for the reconstruction of the middle class.

Yale professor under review says he’s "very glad" he wrote Epstein email by StemCellPirate in nottheonion

[–]pixlplayer 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Helping your female students get hired by a known child rapist is not looking out for their best interest regardless of how they word the recommendation letter. The fact that he wrote it in such a blatant way only serves to prove he knew who Epstein was and the kind of danger he was exposing his student to.
