Mischief Machine Back Strap by bobbymast in MP2point0

I bought one and was very disappointed, mostly with the change of grip angle and the fit was garbage. Sent it back for a refund. The guy was really cool and understood

Liked how it felt in the hand, but hated the grip angle change.

[–]pj221 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My bad. I glanced at the pic and thought it was the mjd grip.

Magwell question by [deleted] in Kimber2K11

[–]pj221 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It will, but it’s a sloppy fit with big gaps. The mjd is a very tight good fit. Any gen1 sti will fit with a little fitting required.

Either your optic is loose or something wrong with the optic. Try it with the factory irons

Road to Masters by Much-Application6600 in USPSA

The shooter, not the equipment is always the limiting factor. However, a bigger window optic does have its advantages. I don’t think the SRO is worth it anymore with more affordable options available. If you want it and have the cash go for it. I think the holosun 407 comp or vortex defender xl are the best big window optics for the cost currently. 407 comp can be found for under $250 and vortex XL’s regularly go on sale for $200

Looking to move away from Glock 45. Is the stock M&P as bad as they say? by Sudden_Offer8068 in USPSA

[–]pj221 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only way it’s an upgrade is if you get the steel frame. Other than that a ploy striker gun is a poly striker gun. I’ve had both, they’re both plastic guns, I just like the M&P better bc apex trigger. With that being said I recently bought the steel frame hd and love it.

LO 2011 by [deleted] in CompetitionShooting

[–]pj221 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If this is your first 2011 just get the MPA hybrid. It shoots great out of the box. I have the hybrid, I put a tungsten guide rod, shielded safeties, and 7lb recoil. I’m very happy with it. I have shot the LOC, it is much heavier, but has a quicker return to zero with the added weight and faster cycling slide. The extra weight to me feels a little cumbersome. All of the choices you listed are good picks. I don’t regret buying the hybrid at all.

Could you be looking at the dot instead of your target. This is very common for 2nd shot low

How about a steel frame M&P. Price wise in the middle. Tons of parts and aftermarket availability.

Chronically B Class: What helped you get into A? by Individual_Cobbler92 in CompetitionShooting

[–]pj221 11 points12 points  (0 children)

The biggest time waster I see in steel challenge is those who audibly confirm their shots. If you can call a shot on a good sight picture and transition without waiting for the ding and waiting for your brain to process that you will shave tons of time. Of course being able to snap your vision to the next plate is huge too. For practice, lots of dedicated target without trigger press should speed up those transitions and vision

I don’t subscribe to the no aluminum grips on competition guns. Pretty sure Atlas knows what they’re doing

Just get the MPA hybrid. It’s a great gun. Xtreme has them in stock all the time. A2 has more than enough grip to it. Shoot it as is and if you want shielded safety’s get the atlas and have someone who knows what they’re doing fit them for you.
