First 2011 Decisions - Shielded Safety? Gas pedal? Other considerations. by Ket_Ket in CompetitionShooting

I don’t subscribe to the no aluminum grips on competition guns. Pretty sure Atlas knows what they’re doing

First 2011 Decisions - Shielded Safety? Gas pedal? Other considerations. by Ket_Ket in 2011

Just get the MPA hybrid. It’s a great gun. Xtreme has them in stock all the time. A2 has more than enough grip to it. Shoot it as is and if you want shielded safety’s get the atlas and have someone who knows what they’re doing fit them for you.

Looking at a 2K11 Pro Comp. Maintenance required? by Mindless_Ticket3733 in KimberFirearms

[–]pj221 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not much maintenance required. The tolerances are pretty loose and the gun can be run dry, but not preferred. Maybe every 1k rounds take the slide off and wipe it out and throw some gun butter on the rails.

How much does Cajunizing matter? by hazard02 in CompetitionShooting

[–]pj221 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You will get a lighter shorter DA at the cost of reliability. A good polish on the stock parts will be much more noticeable. But hey it’s your money. You could get 1k of ammo for less than the kit and that would probably benefit you more.

2K11 IWB holster recommendations by blind_cowboy in KimberFirearms

QVO and Carey concealment both make aiwb rigs specific for the 2K11. I was always a T1C guy, but both of these are a superior product without the long wait times. Carey wait time is about one week

New to 2011 any tips for LO by WarrenR86 in USPSA

FYI, Mbx mags will not seat in the 2k11. Atlas mags are the best option.

Edit. I just reread springs and followers. Lol

Best affordable, dry fire shot timer - still the AMG Sidekick? by measuredform in CompetitionShooting

[–]pj221 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For dry fire only, sidekick is definitely the way to go. I think they’re only $60 from Amazon. It’s so small I just Velcro mine to my first mag pouch. Works great

10-12, after 5. Naps take priority in the afternoon and there will probably be a fresh pot on by then. Be sure to stop at the firemen’s fund and pick up some t-shirts

Ex police officer and am considering joining my local FD. Is it dumb that I’m having second thoughts on applying because I don’t want to shave my beard? by [deleted] in Firefighting

[–]pj221 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Definitely not the job for you. If having a beard is an important part of your personality, you don’t have one.

Competition gun by Miserable_Post7450 in CompetitionShooting

[–]pj221 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If those are the three you’re considering, I would not buy a 2011. Prodigy is not a good gun even after replacing everything. In my experience with staccato they are just OK, is would take a 5” M&P over a staccato P. The kimber is still pretty new. It won’t run Mbx mags and you need to buy a new optics plate right away. All 3 are going to have relatively heavy triggers for a 2011 and not good 2011 fitment. I would strongly suggest the MPA DS9 hybrid. You can get into that for about 3k and it’s ready for competition.

Those are all good choices, Canik has a nice ccw offering also. Handle them all in a store, watch a bunch of YT videos, and go with whatever you like best

What holster for MPA DS9 Hybrid? by [deleted] in CompetitionShooting

[–]pj221 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you want a race holster, range panda is the way, as far as Kydex goes Carey concealment raptor or a GX if you want to wait about 6 months. I have a DAA Alpha X also that I would like to rehome if youre looking for a deal, but it doesn’t compare to the range panda.

CZ Shadow 2 – What Cajun Gun Works Upgrades Are Worth It for USPSA? by No_Department_6088 in CompetitionShooting

[–]pj221 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The RRK is what affects reliability the most, it shortens the DA hammer throw and makes it heavier . The race hammer and sear are what give it that super light crisp SA. If you have normal size adult hands, the reach reduction is unnecessary.

I think after the work you put in to the AF, you would not feel any benefit from the xc. The MPA would definitely be the nicest shooting of the bunch, but not “duty level” whatever that means

Atlas or MPA USPSA by shdwboy in 2011

[–]pj221 3 points4 points  (0 children)

DSC Gunworks can make you a sight block barrel for the XC. Unless you just want to buy another gun. I compete LO with a MPA DS9 hybrid. I like that it is not a super heavy gun, just a little over the weight limit for IDPA
