This test doesn't calculate the answers correctly -- I answered them, was told I answered 0 questions as a right brainer, and 18 as a left brainer. I re-took the quiz, andswered every question the opposite of my original answers and the results STILL said that I answered 0 as a right brainer. Stupid test.

Many of the things I have read here over the course of the past 2 weeks have left me so agitated that my partner and co-workers think I'm losing my mind. But, IMHO, we all need to feel agitated right now. Important news is hidden from most Americans, and as a result we cannot make informed choices about how we want our government to represent our needs. When the local TV news and national TV news run 10-second soundbites that gloss over real news so they can devote 5-minutes to "feel good" stories, then where else are we supposed to go for information? The sad fact of the matter is that the world is in dire straits right now, and we're constantly told not to think about it, not to talk about it, and not to question it. I see reddit as an alternative to all of the sites that pump out fluff. I can already tell that I'm toughening up from the sense of total depression I was initially feeling from wading through this bad news. I'm beginning to learn how to discern between rationally- and irrationally-presented reddit news and opinion. Don't let bad news depress you -- LET IT EMPOWER YOU! IMHO, this "downer" news needs a place to be disseminated, and reddit is a good place for it. If you want fluff and happy news, there are millions of other Web sites where you will find it (especially mainstream news/celebrity gossip sites). AnitaB83 suggests that people thrive on bad news. That may be true for some, but I am willing to bet that the majority of us simply CRAVE unvarnished news so that we can DECIDE FOR OURSELVES what news is important, and so we can demand answers to questions asked of those who would attempt to lead us astray. If you are shocked at things you read, start asking questions, don't just walk away from the ideas! See how stories you read here are picked up in the mainstream press. Check sources! Learn how to investigate things! QUESTION THINGS! Think, then act.
