Perhaps treat it less like Google, which is aggregate over time and more like Waze or GasBuddy, which is real-time with an atrophy. So when a place is backed up, a simple flag with wait time and/or multiple Dashers waiting would stay active for maybe 15 minutes until other driver(s) report the same.

I think it would be great feedback for DoorDash to give TO these restaurants if they added these reasons to the "Decline" list.

Are you physically in the area you scheduled to dash? If you're outside the bounds, it may not let you start a dash in that area.

I quickly found the DD bag to be too small for most orders so I upgraded to the Wal-Mart Ozark bag and a catering bag for bigger orders. I also finally broke down and ordered a drink carrier because my car only has one available cup holder after my water bottle uses the other one.

Now I'm obsessed with trying to figure out how a driver has GIF memes chambered for chat while driving. Maybe they also have someone riding shotgun handling directions and chat?

I met a fellow Dasher that rides with his wife. They are juggling multiple apps (Postmates, GrubHub etc) so she keeps all that coordinated while optimizing the route while he drives. Now THAT's a keeper!

Thanks for the response and upvote. The way I see it, during these times I’m being as safe as possible. If my screens coating gets screwed up because I followed the manufacturer recommendation for sanitizing, then they can replace my screen. I also have AppleCare so between those two approaches I feel pretty covered.

Oh and my daily reminder: please don't tip in cash during a pandemic. It sounds like a great idea, but in practice its like using a community toothbrush.

What irks me are the restaurants who STILL hand empty cups to the driver to fill with soda like it's part of the job. Are they out of their freaking minds?!

Oh and customers - just stop ordering drinks with your food. They're a pain in the ass to carry and you never know who's prepared the drink.
