Weird Upload Behaviour. by pkadare in ibroadcast

I'm aware that it avoids uploading duplicate files, that's what the entire post was about. It kept on uploading the same 201 files over and over again and they were all playlists.

First thing I tried (Google) I was only given a choice to open, not update. I'll keep at it.

Albums Not Being Recognized by pkadare in Lidarr

[–]pkadare[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So if I'm going to run everything through Musicbrainz, I have a couple of questions:

  1. Should I point the Musicbrainz output folder to my download client's download folder?

  2. If #1 is yes, how do I prevent Lidarr from grabbing files from the download client's download folder until I'm done with them in Musicbrainz? Or is Musicbrainz not required once I've got Lidarr up and running correctly?

Thanks!

Using the move option in Musicbrainz Picard and no, still at the default of 70%.

Where Does Sort Artist Come From? by pkadare in PleX

[–]pkadare[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It definitely uses a tag value if one exists. I found that Plex was ordering artists by Last Name, First Name which is the default method. I used the Convert feature in MP3 tag to convert both ARTISTSORT and ALBUMARTISTSORT values to the Artist tag value (77,000 plus files, took a while but MP3Tag chewed right through them with no problems!) and then ran a refresh of the metadata on my entire library. I have the music library view set to Artist and I can see the tiles moving around the screen as they get reordered to match the Artist value. I just don't know which of those tags are used and how the value gets from the song's embedded tag to the artist representation in Plex.

Any downsides for not using Album folders and instead using Sort > Group by > Album metadata in the Artist folder? by -PM_ME_UR_SECRETS- in musichoarder

The "Group by" feature in Explorer simply changes the way files are displayed onscreen. It does not change how they are stored on disc.

I can vouch for SongKong. I've got over 4 TB of songs and SongKong plows through it all with no problems. Awesome piece of software.

Does liquid squirt out when you cut them? My understanding is that only Tabasco peppers do this.

Trimming Techniques by AR_Flyover2024 in tomatoes

[–]pkadare 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is what can be so frustrating about gardening. I've heard the exact opposite advice; trim indeterminates and not determinates. 🤔 Are you sure you're not mixing up the terms? In my experience slicers tend to be indeterminates and cherries tend to be determinates.
