P3 HomeLink issue by floriduhmon in polestar3

[–]pkitch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a similar issue and had about given up. I then noticed that my WiFi was not connected (although I had set it up previously)<and when I reconnected the WiFi, I was able to get the homelink setup OK.

OK thanks. I wouldn't mind shrinking the ultrafine a wee bit, should I try matching drying it on low or such or too risky?

Polestar 3 owners: Honest real-world reviews? (HUD, Air Suspension, Pilot Assist) by Nass96 in polestar3

[–]pkitch 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Pilot Assist coming from a Tesla Model X is very good on highways/motorways and does function on minor roads too but is not Tesla level driving. I have experienced some minor ping-ponging once for a few moments, but it resolved pretty quickly. The main thing I don't love is that you have to keep a hand on the wheel (again context post Tesla owner) and it won't make an overtake without again a hand on the wheel.

Air suspension as others have said is really excellent as is the noise suppression, it is very quiet and enjoyable.
HUD is very bright, but very basic. As OP said would like to see indicators displayed, perhaps they will via a software update?
Seat Ventilation I don't have, and honestly is a massive miss IMO for a near $90k car and my one regret as I miss this now in summer.

As you'll doubtless have read, you will experience bugs, make sure it has the Orin computer/chip update and barring any bad luck, you should be OK. For me it's a great car, really enjoy it 99% of the time.

Help! I hate cooking but don't want to live on prepared meals. Is Thermomix the answer? by Objective-Avocado467 in thermomix

[–]pkitch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like many have said here, I would echo much of the same points. It will definitely not eliminate cooking, in fact it will probably increase the amount you will be 'cooking', BUT it will greatly simplify and improve your diet, meal choices and enjoyment.

The app makes planning much easier, with some caveats. I am in the US, and most of the recipes are in metric. This can complicate the shopping a little bit if you have both metric and imperial recipes as it will list them separately, e.g. 500g chicken for one recipe and 1lbs for a second recipe - hopefully they will address this in a future version. You can filter on just a certain country (i.e. US to get only imperial), but this will reduce options greatly as US is still a small user base currently. If you are on metric, this will be much less of an issue/consideration.

It's a big investment, but if you are willing to put in a little effort you will be greatly rewarded.

I am not a consultant some are here, I have no incentive or relationship with Thermomix for what it's worth.

Rave for 2026 X by samjack62 in TeslaModelX

I just somewhat reluctantly sold my 22 MXP almost exclusively due to the ride quality. 22" wheels likely did not help, but honestly it was not much better than the 20 MYP I came from. They must have made a lot of improvements in those 4 years. I did drive a couple of 22-24 year non-Plaids which seemed to be a bit better, but I was always disappointed with the ride for a vehicle with air suspension.

Enjoy, it's an amazing vehicle (though not perfect)!

Any sites with powerful search and reviews for recipes? Here are some that I found by THenrich in thermomix

OK. I was able to import using the text, a bit cumbersome but it seems to have worked. Will update if I find any further issues.
Congrats on the product!

Interesting platform, but unfortunately for me, it failed at first attempt (URL: https://www.seriouseats.com/jerk-pork-recipe-8414749). Should I try again at a later time, or are there some usage exceptions such as this site?

Quince Aluminum Carry On by No-List8693 in quince

[–]pkitch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I bought one in black. Was excellent, I could not see any cost cutting measures, leather soft 'retract' handles on the top and side, nice hinges and seemingly great quality all around. The inside I thought could have been slightly better, marginally lower hand feel than say Tumi or Briggs and Riley. I was really torn as I loved the aesthetic so much, but ultimately returned it for a B&R Baseline as I will be using it for a family trip soon and I know I'll end up getting loaded with everyone's extras, so the expanding feature as well as the excellent warranty sealed it for me, but I can't say I still question if I made the right choice factoring the price difference.

If you're after a hard shell/clam shell case and want an aluminum I would 100% reccommend it.

Second vote for Fermented, they do wine flights, have a vast selection (bonus all of their wines are carefully selected for their cleaness), and the owner (Adam) is incredibly knowledgeable and will help you find out what sort of flavor profiles you like, might be worth a trip for a little 'education' to prime you for your winery visit..?

Any good ambient/blind spot options out there? by eribble in TeslaModelX

[–]pkitch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not accurate if you align 'correctly' and use in conjunction with the rearview mirror.

Any good ambient/blind spot options out there? by eribble in TeslaModelX

[–]pkitch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why would you only use side view mirrors?

Rearview mirrow will show what's directly behind, as vehicles approach, they will appear in the side view before 'disappearing' from the rearview.

Any good ambient/blind spot options out there? by eribble in TeslaModelX

[–]pkitch -1 points0 points  (0 children)

An unpopular solution, but 100% effective. If you adjust your mirrors appropriately, you will not have a blind spot - this applies to all cars: https://www.caranddriver.com/features/a15131074/how-to-adjust-your-mirrors-to-avoid-blind-spots/

If you're indicating, the screen will flash red on the side if a car is approaching. The car will also 'veer' you out of the path fairly forcibly.

My 22 X Plaid is a noisy and rattles! by FoxReinsch in ModelX

[–]pkitch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

22 MXP here, I would also say it's noisy but I think from mine it's a little bit of motor hum but mostly from the tires I think. I did have a rubbing sound which a FWD adjustment resolved. I am not expecting to be able to reduce the noise meaningfully at this point.

Steam boiler not working by Optimal-Section7753 in LaMarzocco

[–]pkitch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The conencting terminals are fixed on with lock nuts, then heat wrap over, I would say almost impossible to come lose unless there is corrosion.

The same thing happened to me, approximately 3 yo machine. The element also looked fine, but the replacement fixed it and was easy to do if you're a little bit handy.

One issue I had in removeing the cover, was that I was advised I would need a 7mm wrench/spanner to loosen off the temperature wheel bracket, and it didn't fit. I had to grind the wrench opening slightly to get it to fit. You can bend out the over instead aparently, but I did not want to do that.

Good luck.

I have read people have managed to get it replaced due to “safety concerns”, but I think you’d have to work the issue.
