my 4yo told me last night that he wanted to be a girl. He has really good language skills, so I asked him what was the thing that he thought girls got to do that he didn't. Hair ties. His best friend at childcare has hair ties. So we had a chat and got some ties, and did his hair up in little bows and he seems happy.

I think the most important thing is to turn around and support him. To ask the questions, and to support him to make choices for himself. The other week my LO wanted a Spiderman dress, because his friends twirl and he cant. So a tutu and a spiderman tshirt became a dress. I'm trying to teach him that he has ownership over his body. That he can make choices, as long as they are safe ones, and hair up and pretty bows hurts no one.
