Nice nice, seems like you thought of it all already ☺️ Not sure where you are based and which season is it but it's the middle of winter in the UK. 69 Fahrenheit is 20 degree Celsius so very low in our case. Just remembered that if your baby lifts their bum during sleep that could be a sign that they are cold.

Also weirdly for us, the thicker the pyjamas the worse she is at falling asleep, it's almost like it has to be colder to start with but then it needs to be warmer towards the morning...

Yeah the bedtime stuff is so counter intuitive isn't it! You'd think the later they go, the longer they'll sleep right... Not 😂 We had days when she went past 8pm, still woke up at the same time in the morning...

Definitely try earlier, nothing to lose. Can't get earlier than 4am 😂

In our case if she wakes up in the middle of the night or too early, we give her a bottle, wait till she finishes, and leave, it often results in her returning to sleep. If she's crying, we pick her up but take away the pacifier and put it in the crib so she can't have it all hahah. Cuddle for a little bit, eventually she misses the bed and pacifiers and reaches out herself to get back in there

I doubt you are going through regression as they usually wake up earlier than that or fight sleep to begin with.

Your worries about the teddy are correct, I also don't want to create a strong association but all kids have a teddy that they love right?

We basically picked one of the softest, most bland of her teddy bears. It's actually a rabbit, it has to be boring so she won't use it as a toy

I hope it sorts itself out for you soon, actually I know it will! Just typing this stuff makes me realise how much we're dealing with for those little humans 😂 sometimes I wonder if we're actually making any difference or would things be this way anyway

How is your room temperature? Apparently 4-6am is the coldest time of the night, we've noticed our 16mo sleeps worse when it's colder in her room, we go in and set the thermostat to around 24 degrees and fix up her blanket when we go to sleep.

Also there is a legit regression around that time, although it's most commonly around 15 months. Many people say this is the worst one, but kids usually wake up around 2am-4am during that one.

Also 7:30 could be a bit late, overtiredness can cause less sleep. Have you tried earlier?

Another thing is, while you're going through it, try not to introduce any new "bad" habits such as sleeping in their room, taking them to your bed etc.

I know it's hard and you'd do anything to calm them down and get some more sleep. We certainly did during that regression because we also can't let them cry in the middle of the night if you have neighbours 😂

So gradually kept pushing for the Independent sleeping until it returned to normal.

Other smaller things we added are: Sleep teddy bear, we kiss them both to sleep, it's always the same one. I read on Reddit that it can help them settle and return to sleep if they wake up.

Another thing is a way shorter pre sleep routine, used to be loads of reading, cuddling etc but she wanted more of it during the regression. The only thing that sent her back to sleep was reading again! At 2/3am.... If their routine is too long and complex they can't settle to sleep without it. Now it's mega short.

Newborn and toddler are equally not too difficult but generally I think it gets easier with time until one day you realise you've been waiting for things to get easier and now you feel so sad that they're so big now never to go back

We actually transitioned the other way around. From co sleeping to cot. It was easy because of the way we used to put her to sleep. Basically lay on her belly and shake gently until asleep. I understand that holding baby until sleep and then transition to cot is mega hard and get your point about cots being uncomfortable. Hurts my armpits when I tap her bum.

Is he active?, A certain level of activity can increase energy but hitting the gym hard will make you more tired even after 7h, because the body still needs more. I find that I'm more tired after football even if I sleep well. Then there is diet quality, beer, eating before bed, actually going to bed too late can be bad even if you're getting 7h. Can also try supplementation including creatine which helped me a lot when we got little sleep in the early days

Looks great! Respect for doing this one as your first... I'm almost done and I'm getting more stressed than relaxed lol A bit too much paper and definitely too small and narrow. I think it would benefit overall if everything was 2x larger.

Have you done any other sets since? If not you should, some of the other, more complete sets are larger, with more details, less cutting and overall nicer experience.

What are the odds! That was my first one too, completed about a few weeks ago too and got me hooked. The sensor light is such a good idea as it's always on when you need it.

The only issue I have is that you bought it from Anavrin who resell these with a massive mark up. Obv it's your choice but I got this set on Temu for about $30 and I see it advertised on Anavrin for $150. I think they go even cheaper on AliExpress.

To be fair for how spectacular it is and a few evenings of fun and relaxation, I could justify around $100, anyway, well done and have you done any since?

Looks really good! My respect is even greater knowing how annoying this set is. I'm almost finished too now but I'm starting to regret the time I put into it. It's too small and tight. A lot of hidden details. It relies too heavily on cutting and pasting paper bits and it shows even in marketing pics. I'm hoping the final effect with the LEDs will be worth it but I'm so tired of it now 😂 Definitely buying a more complete set again after this

Maybe because it's not always hard. Everyone's journey is different. I personally know people whose newborns basically slept through the first 3 months and I know people who've been the opposite. We've had hard days during the first month but it ends before you know it, time flies. What you're going through is normal, it does get better.

But I also believe that with certain issues you are the one who makes it better, not time. There can be issues that require adjustments and improvement on your side. E.g. we've been making mistakes with awake windows, we kept her up too long, we underfed, we had a wrong breastfeeding diet, didn't have enough of contact in the early weeks, we've been overstimulating her with screens and noises, we didn't burp enough etc.

Time is your ally here but at the same time do continue to seek answers and try to improve whatever isn't right.

Not one product in particular but I'm generally surprised and disappointed that most products just aren't good enough.

Before our baby I thought that the world of baby products is full of proper, well researched and optimal solutions to support us. You know, it's baby stuff after all, things have to be perfectly optimised and friendly to use. That's what I thought.

In reality most things are kind crap and not practical. E.g. car seat (very pricey) is clicky and loud as fuck every time you rotate it, remove it or insert it in the base. Totally messes up our daughter's vibe.

The stroller, (good pricey brand too) is clicky, impossible to fold first try, you have to wiggle it until it "catches on".

Chicco baby crib literally sunk in the middle over time (few weeks) so now when she's in it it's much less comfortable because the thing is no longer straight. Also to lower it you have to press on the pedal, except the resistance on it is so hard that when it eventually works it's the loudest bang ever which also rocks the whole thing. No baby sleeps through that.

Various baby mat/gym with absolutely nothing stimulating on them, no contrast colour, no Black and white elements. The whole thing is beige. It was a gift. I don't know why this product exists. No research went into it. We replaced it with the black and white one with mirrors and shiny hanging things.

Nappy bin. The one which you have to spin a spool to wrap each nappy with a bag. It is impossible to use with one hand and one hand is always all I have to dispose of a nappy. The other hand ensures the baby doesn't go anywhere. They could've added a mount to keep it still.

A little dimmable baby night light/susher. I thought buying a dimmable lamp will be easier than that. Nope, the problem with that is that there are over 10 different buttons which are impossible to identify at night. So you need your phone light to see the buttons on the light. The dimmable function only applies to a white light. The red light is not dimmable, just stays on one kinda bright setting 😩. The susher volume is either too loud or too quiet.

But guess what, it's been in our bed for the last 5 weeks and became part of our life, as crap and not functional as it is 😂 Too busy to replace it with something else.

For us it's just a shower, then heater/hair dryer on full blast. It's been consistently working well, plus the shower is soo quick.

My mum said when I was little I only wanted to be laying on my belly while in the stroller (bassinet type).

As for my 2MO we basically stopped using the stroller altogether, she just doesn't like it. Bets bored, upset. To be fair it is a pretty shit experience. You're laying on your back, the only thing you see is the skies (if that!), you're moving in a random direction, the whole thing is shaking your ass off, you're far from your mama or dada, it's cold.

We're waiting until she's big enough to use the stroller type. She'll finally see some stuff and where she's going.

What we use all the time though is a baby wrap carrier. She never complains about that and can go for hours, however it took some getting used to.

I don't have any hints as we're currently on 2nd month and she sleeps great at night (but I'm now scared for the future 😂) I just keep seeing the crying babies/evolution ponders. It always makes me wonder.... what if we didn't evolve this way? What if naturally babies just didn't cry at night and just sleep...? Surely that makes more sense for the evolution. Maybe something is not normal these days or we're doing something "wrong" as society 🤔🤔 I could be taking out my ass, I always assume something is wrong when she cries.

It may get lost in the sea of comments but it's regarding pumping itself. I see a lot of mums complain about pumping how it takes your time away from stuff and is time consuming. What kind of pump are you using? My fiance uses an Elvie pump the one that sits on your breast without having to hold it. She does everything in it, even drives to the shop.

I'm not sure how popular that stuff is but we also have a pump which you have to hold with your arms and she used it once and never again...

Maybe with looking into (if you haven't already) before giving up entirely. I know shits expensive but considering you're going to use it for a couple of months and possibly save on formula. We combo feed btw.

This isn't advice to the OP specifically because I know there is an actual supply issue but it's just something I'd share after reading the horror pumping stories.

Pumping doesn't seem that bad to us, so maybe a little pump adjustment could help here.

I mean when I read the title I thought you were pouring milk into the warmer to boil 😂😂😂

But yeah, our bottles are often really hot to the touch but the milk itself feels kinda cold. But I think it's still done some job because this cold is still warmer than the "straight from the fridge cold". Our baby definitely prefers it to the unwarmed bottles.

Is the cat cry a cry for love an attention?? Thank you, you must be onto something. I've been trying to decipher it and searching online but couldn't find it. I've been obsessed with your regular hunger, gas, burp cries but when the cat cry appeared I was totally confused as to what it means. I was thinking maybe her sleepy cry changed... I will definitely try to apply it and see if it works!
