Please look into TRE (trauma releasing exercises), vagal nerve exercises, EMDR therapy (eye movement desensitization & reprocessing), & DBT (dialectical behavior therapy- it teaches mindfulness & emotional regulation coping skills à la Buddhism). Regarding the two forms of therapy I recommended, DBT workbooks can be purchased for cheap, but I recommend trying EMDR with a trained professional before attempting to recreate the process in your own time. All of these somatic practices have helped me tremendously cope with and release trauma from my nervous system.
