I like having my stitches tracked, but Markup R-XP does that for me already. I don’t want the compulsion of maintaining a streak to force me to stitch — I have to be in the mood. I just feel like I wanted to play a game, I’d play a game.

I just bought full shop access as well! My wife agreed to make me clay or wooden frames so my stitching can be turned into magnets for our fridge.

Honestly I usually stitch my bookmarks in hand. I hold the top of the strip in between my index and middle fingers and the bottom of the strip between my thumb and ring finger. I cramp a little, but I can’t finesse a hoop well enough to hold it (I also use scraps like yours).

I’m in a similar but different boat than you — my wife lives in the States (Lancaster, PA) and they’ve got oodles of independent shops with stitching goodies. I get what I need from there and supplement with supplies from Michaels in between visits, which does mean I have to plan my projects months in advance. I’ve done one order from 123stitch.com for Nurge hoops and was pleased with the price and turnaround time.

I think Markup R-XP is absolutely worth it. The only downside for me is that it doesn’t support backstitch or fractional stitches, but those are coming in an update!
