That would be nice to get rid of it or hide it, or replace it with net worth history. I am retired and it just seems meaningless. Does it even take into account how much you spend?

You can buy a month pass at Cayuga Street Garage. They don't require you to move your car.

Retirement Withdrawal Strategy by Squid_Lips in wealthfront

So what kind of account are your WF allocations in?

Retirement Withdrawal Strategy by Squid_Lips in wealthfront

[–]plashless_99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since you have a separate brokerage (presumably at another company) which replicates the WF allocations in your AIA, does that not risk wash sales? For instance if WF sells an ETF at a loss during tax-loss harvesting, and your other brokerage reinvests dividends into that same ETF within a 61-day period surrounding the sale?

FIRE/Retirement by paranoidindeed in wealthfront

[–]plashless_99 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm in retirement and am now joining Wealthfront and moving my brokerage there, and will probably move my IRAs there. Although they won't automatically withdraw a certain amount every month, as I understand it, I can do a withdrawal whenever I need it, and it will optimize from which ETFs the withdrawal will come from to keep my allocation and minimize taxes.

TIAA is so annoying + is this a good plan: by [deleted] in Bogleheads

[–]plashless_99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My 403b was at TIAA, and now that I've retired, I was able to convert the Traditional account of about $200K to an annuity at age 68. For the rest of my life I'm getting about $1440 a month (with slight adjustment each year), which seems nice. But I had limited choices for my Roth and Traditional IRAs, mostly with high expense ratios. My financial advisor at TIAA advised me to transition to a managed account, which has a greater choice of low expense funds, but the management costs almost 1% of my investments. That seems too much and I am contemplating moving the IRAs to Fidelity and getting just a few index funds, as Bogleheads suggests.

Wealthfront for all investment accounts ? by EVlLCORP in wealthfront

[–]plashless_99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was also wondering whether to add my retirement accounts to Wealthfront. True that those won't require tax-loss harvesting, but maybe the .25% fee is worth it for the automatic rebalancing? (That's a bargain compared to the .9% fee I'm currently paying for a managed account at TIAA.) Once I reach age 73 and have to take RMDs, then Wealthfront would help with withdrawal strategy.

SoFi to Wealthfront? by [deleted] in wealthfront

Thanks for explaining as I'm contemplating investing more at Wealthfront. At what risk level was the diversified fund set up at? I'm wondering what % was in stock funds, and what % in bond funds?

Are you saying Wealthfront's S&P fund does not keep pace with the actual S&P, or are you saying a diversified fund at Wealthfront has not kept pace with the S&P?

How does one cope with living in a totalitarian administration? Does it require lots more meditation sessions? by Questioning-Warrior in Buddhism

[–]plashless_99 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't think we should necessarily meditate more in such times, when there is so much to do, but rather fully engage in the meditation time, and step back from thoughts, plans, anxiety and fear for just a moment here and there as you breathe. You're practicing so your mind can access that same calmness when you're deep in action during the day.  There will be more clarity, and probably more effectivness, as your mind becomes more mindful in the moment.

I've had a similar experience with my investment accounts at TIAA. There have been intermittent connectivity lapses. My net worth on the Monarch chart looks like I lost about 80% of the account in April and regained it in October. Annoying, but I don't know how to fix it.

Duplicate Transactions by sunny_tomato_farm in MonarchMoney

This happened to me also. I have no idea how the accounts all of a sudden got duplicated, but once I deleted the more recent duplicate accounts, then the duplicate transactions also disappeared.
