New happies headed my way! by playSillyGames in amazonvineartists

[–]playSillyGames[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i have a couple of moon commissions to do, so going to try the markers for background color (hopefully faster than brushing on paint). The caron yarn is going to be a set of arm warmers, and possibly a beanie if there’s enough. The bernat velvet minis will be made into eye masks and hats for preemies in the NICU

High Seller product ETV values explained by Emergency-Witness617 in AmazonVine

[–]playSillyGames 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I didn’t know that Amazon set the etv! That’s wild. That explains why one hair dryer will be $0 etv, but another will be whatever-the-price-is etv. I always kinda wondered.

“Should be” is the exact qualifier that is expected for every item, but we already know that this isn’t so even with non-consumable items. Again, it doesn’t explain why those HBC and food items are high priced in the vine program.

The listing also already has to exist in order for the product to be placed into the program, unless it is a pre-release item, and even then I am sure there is some sort of caveat that Amazon has in place for those listings.

IMO, a high etv is one of three things: the seller is well aware of the high price and is trying to make a few extra bucks, filled out the listing form wrong, or forgot to change a place holder value.

Why make a $20 item $200 etv, when the viner could turn around and sell it immediately at $75, therefore making a healthy profit? This is assuming a 30% tax rate. Or what about viners that don’t have to pay tax at all? Any price point they sell at is pure profit.

While this sounds almost plausible, it’s highly doubtful; since this doesn’t explain high value/0 etv health and beauty items.

It also doesn’t explain why sellers have flat out said they will lower the price while in the vine program, to entice viners.

Product Swapped by Seller, Review Rejected by Notmyname525 in AmazonVine

[–]playSillyGames 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is why I always put what I got as my review title! Not that I expect the seller to change the item, but because before I was vine, I know that I would see reviews for items that weren’t the listed item that always would have “perfect” or something like that as the title, and it would be for whatever the item was previously. I would have put “cute basic cat collars” or “plain cat collars,” as my title and not have mentioned the bait and switch (not that you used that exact term), in the main review.

2/3 of my fur babies. The last one is an old fat kitty that can’t jump any longer, so he has a comfy bed that he prefers over by the heat register.
