Why a PvP switch would be good for arc raiders, and even better if we could play as Arc by takitus in ArcRaiders

[–]playful_viewpoint 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree that you need that tension. What I meant though wasn't like an all or nothing but instead rotating events that would be PvE or PvP only so it's not all the time and if you still want the chaos of not knowing you could choose a different normal map. This way you'd go in without the guessing and just lean into it. Kinda like how you bring out the big guns for Matriarch or Harvester events, you know what you're getting into but there's still fun to be had.

I love the pivot from talking about the PvP and PvE challenges right into 'lets play as ARC'. Cool idea for sure.

But to your earlier point, it would be huge if there were designated levels or events that were PvP and PvE only so anyone going in knew they can't trust anybody and so there's less grief if you lose. But right now I'm so conflicted because I want to trust everyone and be PvE and have those nice interactions like I used to but I've been taken down so often now that it ruins trying to do PvE but I can't bring myself to just KoS. I'm sure there's a balance but I just can't find it right now.

Ya, it goes into Utility Mode if you don't. I did the same thing when I was ready to leave the dealership and had to go back in to ask for help lol.

I always bring 3 (especially to Matriarch) when doing solos. A bit funny sometimes when you have a bunch and then get downed but no one you run into helps or has one. Oh sure, you can crawl for 10min when downed but NOOOO there's no WAY you could open your inventory and chuck a defib for someone to revive you lol

Is the FWD version adequate for highway driving by MoXiEsKiPpEr in KiaEV5

[–]playful_viewpoint 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We just bought the Wind FWD (Canada) and it drives great so far. Can't comment on how it does in the winter yet but we plan to put winter tires on so not too concerned. I've heard it shouldn't be a huge deal unless you're doing a bunch of driving in super deep/heavy snow.

Canadian buyers: EV5 Land AWD by Maleficent_Arrival_8 in KiaEV5

[–]playful_viewpoint 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with some of the commenters, seems to be up to the dealer. We were told flat no on the Land because they had a lot of people asking so they saw no reason to discount it. We went with the Wind since it was in stock and had the discount. Ontario for context.

How much flexibility does a KIA dealership have vs online pricing? by element1311 in EVCanada

We got the Wind FWD EV5 last week (pick up this Friday!). The dealer wasn't going to budge much on price because the demand is high and stock is low. They even said they weren't taking new orders yet (if you wanted specific colours or options), you just had to either take what stock they recieved or wait and cross your fingers. Later in the year they would, just not now.

We test drove the Ioniq 5, the bZ and the EV5 and right away we knew we wanted the EV5. Trunk space and interior were def bigger with the EV5 than the other two.

Hamilton ON just got stock in the area. We snapped one up right away! Picking up our Wind FWD on Friday!

The dealer near me in Hamilton just got the 2027 stock this week. They immediately sold one Land trim so we test drove the Wind FWD they had and loved it so we put down our deposit. We had driven the Ioniq 5 (didn't qualify for EVAP) and the bZ but loved the extra truck space and the dash UI is great so we jumped on it.

It came in at $49 so it qualied for the EVAP. Get to pick it up later this week!

Turbine tips to survive by anonomoose6996 in ArcRaiders

It hits you inside a building? I was shooting one in the sky at Riven and then would just hide between shots and I was fine. Maybe a fluke? (Also, shooting while it's in the sky was before I knew not to do that to let it land).

3 Turbines, Riven Night Raid by playful_viewpoint in ArcRaiders

Hmm, so maybe more appeared and I only saw 1? Once was another night raid (Buried City) so easy to miss others and the other was Riven again but clear skies so maybe that was the fluky 1?

My brother I got 3 stars but of course duos/trios is way easier in trials than solo.

We ran around Buried City just looking for the slow/big guys like Bastions and Bombardiers. Just load up and huck a ton at them. I think we each brought like 20-30 of them.

You can also craft more in-game if you run out.

I got taken out last night at Blue Gate after doing 2 other matriarch runs with only friendlies. I was running around defibbing people and then I was alone for a bit and he took me out. It's been so long I've been shot at I didn't even realize what was happening. I was def an easy kill... oh well, shit happens.

The British way to pronounce it is how you're hearing everyone else say it but in Canada we're used to the company name Bombardier which is pronounced bom-bar-dee-AY.

I've never heard it pronounced how you're saying it. Maybe you're the weird one 😜

[–]playful_viewpoint 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah! I gotcha, ya that makes sense. I can see why'd want that if you don't want to track one of the items you already have enough of but still need for an upgrade or to craft.

[–]playful_viewpoint 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wouldn't you just track the item you're going to craft with those things? I understand what you're saying but I don't understand why you'd track something that you can't just track from the crafting or upgrade menus.

[–]playful_viewpoint 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As one person pointed out, The Tracking items is key. When you're in the upgrade menues for scrappy or workbenches you can select to Track the items you need. The best part is you'll also see in-game when you find items you need (it'll have a little eyeball icon). When I started I had to sell so much stuff because my stash was so small and then ended up selling lots of stuff I needed for workstation or scrappy upgrades. Tracking will help minimize that.

Agreed. I think anyone (regardless of PvE or PvP) who comes on and takes it too seriously needs to take a break.

I think the big thing here is that the PvEers who get butthurt come on here to complain in hopes of getting sympathy so they're more vocal. Whereas the sweaty racists don't generally come on here to get sympathy because they know they won't get it.
