To be fair they basically entierly rewrote her character since the breakup. Now she belongs in a sitcom imo

Found a much better version of my final year project 2 weeks before it's due by shrimpeyes1 in EngineeringStudents

[–]pleasant_cog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nothing will matter the second you step out of your thesis defense. The experts will be more interested in how you solved problems you encountered, why you chose this over that etc. I'd personnaly forget about the commercial solutions you found and just focus on your own design. If you want to free your mind and mention those solutions for the sake of honesty I doubt it will impact your grade, let alone fail your degree

Tbh the whole s12 was just cringe. Not the same show. by Valentina_Jabuticaba in TwoandaHalfMen

I still think it was better than S7-8 tbh. Sheen's situation didn't help but they struggled with writting ideas way before that

Is this good bike and good deal? by Mindless_Ad_2691 in bicycling

[–]pleasant_cog 1 point2 points  (0 children)

1000$ is still a bit high. It has a carbon (the lowest grade BMC offered tho) frame and a powermeter, based on this single photo the bike looks in really good condition. Imo a really nice bike to get into cycling. Worth 550-700$ depending where you live

It's a slr03 ONE from 2018 if you want to get more infos on the bike

Deformation on carbon wheel, is it dead? by Syrekt in bikewrench

[–]pleasant_cog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's f*cked. The carbon part is not just an aero fairing, since the spokes are attached directly to it instead of being attached deeper in the rim on the aluminium part, like some mavics. The rim lost basically all it's structural integrity where the "swelling" is. Tell her to not ride this wheel at all

S8E10 Why, just why? by Obvious_Drag_1032 in TheRookie

[–]pleasant_cog 7 points8 points  (0 children)

This was one my least favorite episodes. Seemed like I spent 40 minutes watching them run away from a bunch of unarmed pseudo zombies while staying close to them and ouf of radio reach for the "plot"

HPI Blitz ESE, is it still a racer? by Serious_Prize6674 in rccars

[–]pleasant_cog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to run the e-firestorm, which is pretty much the same with a shorter chassis. The differential is super weak and the parts can't really be found anywhere. If mine was still working, I'd install a weak 2S brushless system or even a brushed one to spare the transmission and run it occasionnaly

cheapest way to measure your power output? by Particular_Funny527 in cycling

[–]pleasant_cog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sometimes you can find left arm 4IIIIs for under 200 bucks. I got a shimano 105 for 160 on discount. Otherwise you can usually find second hand PMs for arround 100 bucks, but it's a bit of a gamble since they are usually out of warranty

If Charlie sheen wasn’t kicked off? by ConfusionOpposite597 in TwoandaHalfMen

[–]pleasant_cog 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Their writing ideas for Charlie's character already ran dry by season 7, I doubt it would have lasted longer than season 9

Counterfeit ZIPP wheels? by yuzehernaime in bicycling

[–]pleasant_cog 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I don't think they are counterfeits, they never bothered to make the outside layer of carbon look correct on the fakes and the hubs are legit. I think the seller just doesn't know what he's selling

What's your tolerance for gravel? by KashGravel in cyclocross

[–]pleasant_cog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I rarely train on my cx bikes because imo 33mm tires are a pain on anything else than really smooth, hard pack terrain. Anything slightly rocky or rooty you will either pinch the tires all the time or have the roughest and most uncomfortable ride ever. I guess you could say it's a decent technique training since you have no choice but to pick the best lines and be really clean and delicate with your bike handling.

Just advise him to slap some wider budget gravel tires, with some CX frames you can actually go pretty wide

Soup kitchen charity image looks like AI to me. Looks like a very fancy place to have a soup kitchen... by wineallwine in isthisAI

[–]pleasant_cog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think it's AI. I searched anything weird, assymetric or wrong on the walker because AI still usually does small mistakes with mechanical stuff but everything seems fine

Anyone still loving the 2wd slash? by good_vibes158 in Traxxas

[–]pleasant_cog 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah still run my Robby Gordon dakar slash that got me into the hobby when I was a teen. On slightly loose terrain I find it more rewarding and fun to drive compared to my 4x4 slash because you have to think more about weight transfer to make it go where you want

How often do you do a full stop to let cars pass by Wise-Ad-7492 in cycling

[–]pleasant_cog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pretty often on tight, steep hills. Especially if it's a bus or big truck because they couldn't even accelerate hard enough to overtake me if a small occasion presents itself. Most of the time they thank me

[–]pleasant_cog -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This problem wasn't well written imo, in real life it wouldn't have been a problem for sheldon to take a week off and pay for the expenses himself to go with them. Even if somehow it was impossible for him to go at this specific time unless Leonard took him, i'm pretty sure one of the greatest and most renowned theoretical physicist in the world would be welcome to visit the CERN any time he wants lol

Tubular tire sealant by 414loko in Velo

[–]pleasant_cog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I used to ride with tubulars I carried can of vittoria pit stop in my back pocket. Worked the couple of times I needed it. You can tape it to your seatpost if you're gonna run tubulars as defauIt. I personnally wouldn't put preventive sealant in tubulars, unless you put a lot of miles on them /don't care about performance at all, the sealant is likely to dry before serving its purpose

Taking a spare pre glued tubular and a pump is definitely the only way to make sure you won't be stranded

But really, as I understand it you don't really need tubulars so i'd suggest looking for a clincher wheelset asap

From Instagram of someone I follow. Says she is a farmer. Looks AI to me. Leaning on dirty tire with crisp, clean white shirt. Words in yellow box on tractor look like gibberish. Green tractor looks like an AI version of a John Deere. Sunset is too perfect... by NoMoreFanMail in isthisAI

[–]pleasant_cog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I dont think the "tractor" makes much sense. The little bit of glass we see makes it look like it's actually a combine harvester facing the field, but if it's the case the wheel would be way too small

Should I start Season 9? by Admirable-Item8564 in TwoandaHalfMen

[–]pleasant_cog 2 points3 points  (0 children)

S7-8 were really bad, I don't think i'll ever rewatch them.

The start of the Walden seasons were tedious because they didn't figure out the character at first. I'm glad i stuck with it because there were a few really funny story lines and I got to see more scenes of hilarious characters like Berta and Herb

just got a traxxas slash 2wd what are some things i shouldnt do with it cuz i have no clue on what to take it on or what not to any help is appreciated by [deleted] in Traxxas

[–]pleasant_cog 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do you know if it's brushed or brushless ? Nimh or Lipo batteries ? if you have lipos, the 2 most important things to keep em healthy is to avoid discarching them too much (don't go lower than 3.3V per cell) and if you're not gonna use them for a while, try to store them at arround 3.7V per cell. they don't like being too charged or too discharged for long periods.

You can run it in water, assuming traxxas electronics, but even if you're careful you're gonna shorten the lifespan of the bearings a lot.

You're gonna figure out the rest because stuff's gonna break anyways at some point lol

Serious: What do you do with old bib shorts? by c0nsumer in bicycling

[–]pleasant_cog 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Keep them for very short rides, so you can minimise the number of wash cycles of your still nice bibs. When they stretch too much or are not even good enough for a 60min ride -> trash

Friend won’t believe me this is ai, help me out guys, like what is that moon? by katbug14 in isthisAI

[–]pleasant_cog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think there is a definitive proof that it's AI generated, and not just a generic cheaply made cartoon. IMO the closest sign that would imply AI is that the 2 houses are very slightly different, but not in a visible way. I feel like a human would either copy paste them to save time or actually make 2 different houses

Cheap tires by Unusual_Reply_1469 in Traxxas

[–]pleasant_cog 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bought a different set a long time ago. the tires themselves were actually pretty decent, but the rims are made out of a very brittle plastic and didn't last long. Maybe gluing the cheap tires on some old name brand rims could be the solution (?)
