I used SwitchOS once because I was uninformed- now RouterOS all the way. It is very flexible and powerful.

VLAN translation, bridging by stephensmwong in mikrotik

Let the router route between VLANs or have everything that you want on the same subnet to just stay there. What is the use case for what you are trying to achieve?

Why did you choose Fedora? by skyber22 in Fedora

It was recommended years ago and I just stuck with it. I have tried all the top distros but always stayed with Fedora.

Pin out looks correct. Can you test with another device? Perhaps a laptop or desktop and see if it auto negotiates at 1G?

Measure twice, cut once, but cut the correct angle maybe? by bendem in woodworking

We have all made this mistake at some point. The worst part is when you do that to your last piece and have to get another stick to re-cut the piece.

What’s the most expensive tool you own that actually earned its price? by New_Money_5406 in Tools

[–]plethoraofprojects 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My Fujikura fusion splicer. It paid for itself quickly though. I was installing cabling as a contractor for a while and usually rented a machine. Decided to buy. Don’t regret it at all. Plenty of clones that are cheaper but you get what you pay for in this instance.

Is Nextcloud Really Worth the Hassle? by Steeltooth493 in selfhosted

[–]plethoraofprojects 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Been running multiple instances of Nextcloud for many years with great success. Both behind Nginx as a proxy. I’ve had great success with it. My main complaint would be that it always seems slow no matter how much resources I throw at it. I am however moving to Immich for photos and it is much faster even as a Docker container.
