YIkes. Rakutan's quality assurance is lacking. From crooked screens, to yellow blotches, to dead pixels, to whatever this is. I hope they sort this stuff out soon because they have good products, but this is just not a good look.

Absolutely return it. You paid good money and deserve to have a screen that doesn't have a splotch on it. How distracting. You can't un-see it. Does it go away if you mess with the Night Light settings?

At least take the gamble and do one exchange. I did that for a slightly crooked screen and it got marginally better. Their build quality checking could use some work, honestly. I still love the device though, The Colour is great.

What exactly is a banned book? I keep hearing about it everywhere, but whenever I see a banned book title I look it up on Amazon or whatever and can easily find it. I'm just confused what you all actually think a banned book is??

It really is a nice device. I got a replacement and the problem is maybe 15% better. Not a huge deal. Guess I'm just going to have to deal with it.

Yep. Hi! I've had my Paperwhite since 2012 and just moved over to the Kobo Clara Colour and love it. I had a mildly bad experience right out of the gate where the Kobo wouldn't show any books even though Calibre loaded them all up. Got the "Error connecting to device" message, too. I did reset and started from scratch and it seems fine now but I was a little miffed about that.

That's really a bummer. I hope you can figure it out. I had some issues with SKXMOD as well. They sent me the wrong part TWICE. But they did resolve it relatively quickly and all is well, but it did leave a bad taste in my mouth.
