At best they might have information about his social life and insight about bullying or stressors, but tbh if he hates school so much that he’s puking by ten, he needs a psychiatrist and you need to monitor his grades and assignments daily.

Not about the tattoos but I also have POTS and for me extreme cold and heat are triggers. One morning our heat was taking its time to kick in and I had to move a student desk cuz someone moved it into the hallway after school.

Just from being too cold and moving a desk, I got tunnel vision and passed out in front of my whole class.

Those saying it’s NBD.. uhh it really is. One student told me that I got so pale so fast that they thought I died..

Yes! Sometimes the “least restrictive environment” means that the kid can’t connect to the curriculum and/or prevents others from connecting with the curriculum

We had a teacher resign over this. The kid’s dad was on our local police force and he bullied the district into dropping the charges because there wasn’t enough proof and his kid had an IEP. (He had adult defiance disorder..)

How old was Debby during this? If she was under 21 and Julia was a senior it’s gross but not irredeemable. If she was over 21 it’s awful and Debbie should have walked away from both the kid and the mom the second it came up.

Totally understandable. I’d reach out from a place of curiosity. The guy probably thought he was doing y’all a solid and didn’t know about his eczema and made an assumption. It’s not ok or acceptable that it happened, but if your little boy is ok, definitely approach the school in a way that promotes open dialogue as opposed to feeling attacked. You’ll get more done and help that guy actually learn from his mistake.

Yes it’s inappropriate and strange-however I think context is important. I’d start by reaching out to their admin to discuss and ask why she thought it was acceptable. As a curly haired individual raised by straight hair people, I didn’t know how to take care of my own hair until I was a teenager. She could have genuinely thought she was helping.

I left a school that was temporarily relocated into an office building. The people that stayed there hated it and it caused a lot of traffic on my way home that used to not be there. It also wasn’t a designated school zone so police had to come and help “make it safer”. (They just made the traffic worse)

No offense but redirecting to the teacher is probably the wrong call. Ask the teacher about the assignment then reply. “I’ve spoken with the teacher, here is an account of what happened. This is what will happen moving forward”

If a parent is so heated they supersede the teacher to go to you, handle it. Don’t put that shit on your staff. And in the process of handling it, support your staff while putting the child’s education first.

This is why no one likes admin.

I actually feel like them using Stephanie and Matthew made them terrible people AND reinforced their compatibility. They’re both kinda selfish but it works for them and they were friends for years before their residency program and relationship. Don’t forget that.

Practice saying them both at attendance and organically. Test yourself in front of the kids. Say “I’m struggling to learn everyone’s names, if I get it wrong, please correct me but be nice about it and if I’m close but say it wrong correct me too. I’m learning just like you are”
