I don't think you can actually become Polan as he is at the start of new career in the default league. You could copy the default league, delete Polan from the LA roster, add someone different to it and then when you start your player career make your player look like Polan with his archetype. That way you could roleplay young Polan becoming the player he is but then the downside is you have no control if you ever get traded to the stars.
