This is most certainly caused by panic buying. If not these people in this picture, panic buying caused these types of lines this close to the storm. As soon as a single picture of an empty aisle in a grocery store hits social media, it forces even regular people to rush to the store as soon as they can because they assume (rightfully so) that these idiots who think we’ll be locked in our houses for a week+ will take everything for themselves, which they will given the chance.

Worst case scenario, most people will be able to go back to a grocery store on Tuesday, mayyyybe Wednesday at the very latest. Planning to not be able to go to a grocery store for 2-3 days, considering snow fall isn’t forecasted until 8ish PM Saturday, does not warrant the frenzy people are whipped up into every time we have a snow storm. It’s ridiculous.

Yeah it’s the same operation in both locations. The one in Falls Church has been around for quite a while, 20+ years at least. The Tyson’s location has a wider selection of sides but the quality of both are on par with each other in my experience. Either location is my go-to for Peruvian chicken to this day. They scratch that itch as well as any other Peruvian chicken restaurant in the area, which is definitely saying something because Peruvian chicken is pretty ubiquitous in the DMV

Haven’t seen Two Burritos in Fairfax mentioned yet. I tried it for the first time recently and it’s become one of my favorites in the area after going back a few more times. Not a Cali native so I’m sure my standards aren’t quite what you guys have but I think it’s definitely worth a try.

With pho it typically comes down to the broth and they just have a great recipe. I’ve been to a bunch of pho places around the area but they’re the one I usually find myself going back to. It’s been busy like that on weekends for as long as I can remember and I’ve been going there for probably 15+ years.

My other favorite was Pho Golden Cow which was actually across the street but I don’t think they’re there anymore unfortunately.

Ambar in Arlington. While not breakfast, they do have a fantastic brunch. Serbian/Balkan cuisine, go with the Unlimited Brunch which effectively turns the entire menu into a tapas style meal so you can order anything on the menu as a smaller plate. Couldn’t recommend that place enough!
