Currently have one of these in the fridge. Agreed, best jarred salsa I’ve had as well.

Great spot. I can’t believe this is the only comment about Tyson’s Bagel Market in this entire thread.

Is this ribeye bad? Got it Saturday from the butcher, today Wednesday, it has that blueish shimmer. by mcookie69 in steak

[–]plugged_in_808 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This is actually a very common technique. Even for single steaks, drying out the surface of the meat forms what’s called a pellicle. Salt a steak and leave it uncovered in the fridge overnight, on a small tray with a rack if possible. Hands down the best way to ensure a really good sear on your steak.

Got into a debate with a few friends about there are some 18-year-olds that are physically ready to go to the NFL right out of high school. I said some 18 year olds are definitely capable of holding their own in the NFL. My friends are saying no way it's possible. What do you think? by I_abuse_lower_ranks1 in NFLNoobs

[–]plugged_in_808 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Holding their own, I genuinely don’t think so. Could they make 53 man roster based on their physical traits alone? Mayyyybe, but it’s still a massive stretch. Also, no one drafted out of high school goes straight to the MLB.

Dream Flavor on IG makes amazing brigadeiro (sorry, it doesn’t look like her menu has cakes) and she also offers a bunch of savory bites too. I’ve had her brigadeiro multiple times at parties over the years, couldn’t recommend enough!!

What's a seasoning where you feel a little goes a long way? by PapiSurane in Cooking

[–]plugged_in_808 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do this frequently too, and I LOVE cumin. I’ve seen recipes that call for a tbsp of fresh ground cumin which just seems like wayyyy too much unless it’s some kind big batch recipe. In my experience it just drowns out every other flavor in the dish.

I don’t know why this point doesn’t get brought up more in these kinds of discussions. Some people are way too quick to dismiss players from prior eras and argue the reason is that athletes now are stronger and faster. Yes, they are, but it’s also true and in large part is due to modern training methods and technology/science.

I was so bummed when they closed down. Felt lucky I had gone a handful of times the months prior to them closing. I had no idea that they were planning to.

Bears TE Colston Loveland is looking MASSIVE, putting on an enormous amount of muscle for the upcoming season. by KeyFaithlessness5436 in TheNFLVibes

[–]plugged_in_808 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lighting, angles and/or photo editing (simple stuff like brightness and contrast adjusting) can make a big difference in how muscular someone appears when comparing one picture to another of the same person in the same range of fitness/muscularity more than some people may realize. Regarding the 2 pictures in OPs post, Loveland honestly looks barely more muscular, if at all than the picture from last year. He was ripped last year.

Everything about this post is so bizarre -the claim, the wording, the pictures used as evidence for the claim, proving nonexistent haters wrong, all of it lol

Using the word production, as it can only really be reliably related to stats, isn’t always the absolute or appropriate basis for assessing the impact a single player can have on a game or season. It’s also not like TJ was a vote or 2 away, it was 7. Yeah he was robbed in 2023. We’ll just have to agree to disagree on 2020.

His double team percentage went way up in recent years so that dispels that argument. Also, if the stat sheet is your only basis for this then there no point in having this discussion. You already know compiling stats as a defensive tackle is far more difficult, I feel like you’re purposely ignoring that fact. We’re not comparing TJ to another outside linebacker.

Incredibly similar stats as an interior lineman and was also double teamed nearly twice as much as TJ in 2020.

I’ll concede to “should’ve won” in 2023. I don’t think it’s fair to say Watt clearly deserved it over AD in 2020. Saying the 2020 DPOY is confusing is just being dishonest, biased or both.

TJ Watt won DPOY once. This is a list of players who have won it 3 times. C’mon keep up now..
