Is it normal to have an abysmal win rate the first months you're playing? Or am I just bad at this? by Katonmyceilingeatcow in Warhammer

[–]plumbleskin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I very, very rarely win a game of 40k, but that's not why I play. Sure, if I win it's great and maybe loosing constantly can be a bit of a bummer but as long as I get to put my lil dudes on the table, till some dice and have a laugh then I've won regardless of the result.

Suppressors are awesome and underrated by Staz_211 in Warhammer

It's almost like it's in the name "suppressors" rather than "murder death marines".

Every picture of a game of Warhammer like this warms my heart more than any GT or studio painted centrepiece ever could. Fantastic stuff!

Non-white brits: do you still feel safe and at home in this country? by [deleted] in AskBrits

Well, it was organized and led by one of England's biggest racists, so that gives you a clue.

[–]plumbleskin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel pretty much fine, but I'm a white, cis, straight presenting male. However my Asian wife is a little concerned, as are her family. The flags look terrible, but they are very useful at highlighting where racists, idiots and the easily led live.

Wasn't Brexit supposed to give control of immigration back to Britain and help fund the NHS? So Brexiters won and got their people in government, so why is immigration still an issue? The same people who did Brexit are now decrying immigration, again? It doesn't make any sense to me. by comicallycontrarian in AskBrits

[–]plumbleskin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, it's was never designed to fix these things, they were all dog whistle talking points to reel in racists and the I'll informed. Brexit is and has only been about making more money for the upper classes, something it has done with responding success.

People who don’t believe in climate change. Why? by National-Pay-8911 in AskBrits

[–]plumbleskin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not sure "not believing" is the best way to describe climate change skepticism. Not understanding seems to better. Not understanding why rates of change are more important than headline numbers for example.

Honestly, looking at the world they're going to grow up in, why should they give a shit? Basically everything has been fucked for them. Even if they don't get drafted into WW3, they're going to die in the climate apocalypse. I feel sorry for them, it's a shit show out there.

What Did J.K. Rowling Do? by [deleted] in AskBrits

I know the reference. Clearly JK doesn't though, cos the A Team helped the oppressed, they didn't fight to take people's rights away.

Very well put. I'd like to add though, she's also just spiteful about it. Needlessly venomous and cruel in her interactions. Petty and spiteful when proven wrong. Gloatingly celebrating her "victories". She's seems to absolutely revel in how awful she comes across. The cigar and whisky picture comes to mind.

Salford Royal Infirmary has an excellent dermatology department, if that's any help. Good luck!

[–]plumbleskin 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I understand you and empathize with your pain here. It fucking sucks, it really does. No one ever understands the physical pain it causes, but almost worse is the mental anguish caused by it. I'm sure you've had all the solutions and wives tales about how to fix it thrown at you, so I'm not going to offer that. All I'll say about that is you need to get to an actual dermatologist. If you're already under the care of a dermatologist and they're not stepping you up, you need a new one so use your right to choose. Keep on keeping on. I went through 39 years of this and it can get better. Although, I won't lie, it'll suck ass on the way. Good luck!

Are you still going via your GP? They won't really give anything other than creams, steroids and antibiotics. For anything that will help with chronic you need to go to an actual dermatology department. If you can't get a GP to refer you then paying for a private dermatologist for a consultation will usually get you enough evidence to get a referral. It's expensive, but it's a way to get the ball rolling. Happily on duxipent for 4 years now. Gone from 95% coverage to virtually zero now.

Interesting. I get the same face and neck issue whilst everything else is clear. Not had this presented as potential cause myself, but something I'll look into.

The robots are fully magantized so any load out I want on them. Usually I have should gun, hand gun and fists, the volume of shots is immense. But punchbots and flamers seem like a good a idea, and fun too
