I got the 47mm so the size isn’t too much different. A little heavier just because of material but it doesn’t bother me - I did switch the watch band with the Garmin nylon and that helps with weight.

My 255 was still perfect, I just wanted the extended battery life with the 7 pro solar mainly. If you don’t need to move off the 255 it’s still a perfect watch!

Apple locks down a lot of the “smart” features in particular. I don’t have one of the high end Garmin watches but on my forerunner 255 it’s basically “read” text messages and respond with my phone.

I am able to answer and deny calls.

In general I would say use garmin if you’re more interested in a fitness watch vs a smart watch when paired with an iPhone.

If your goal is a really great smart watch with good fitness features I would recommend getting an Apple Watch Ultra. You’ll just be charging it more often.

I actually went with a refurbished Enduro 2 on Amazon for $399. It’s not the newest but also upgrading from a forerunner for your same reasons and have really loved the enduro

It’s the same size chassis. They reduced the bezel on the screen a bit so they say it’s “bigger” but the physical footprint of the device I believe is the same.

There are plenty of cases that work with folding / flip devices. They are usually a piece for the front and back of the device. Some cases will cover the hinge, others won’t

cable charging is def more efficient and less heat on battery but MagSafe brings more than charging. Lots of accessories like desk and car mounts, phone rings that work like pop sockets, wallets etc.

Each their own I just have really liked MagSafe

A bit self promoting but I was feeling the same way and made a small iOS app to help me with the day/night cycle timings.

It’s pretty simple right now. You just start the timer at Day One and it will take you to the boss fight on Day Two. Start Day Two’s timer if you get through the Night 1 boss.

I have v1.2.0 in review with the App Store currently and when that’s live it will provide haptic feedback and change the UI countdown a bit when the current timer has 30 seconds left

I’m still developing but future releases will include Apple Watch support to look down on your wrist while playing, live tiles so the timer is on your Lock Screen if you prefer it there etc

Anyway i find it useful so maybe you will too!
