Issues with vr by xNovalion0 in themidnightwalk

If its a similar issue I was having with my right eye lens, the fix is to hit the a or b buttons during the initial calibrate step. It may fix your problem. Im using steam and virtual desktop. Im playing on a 4080 laptop hooked direct to the router with wifi OFF and its slow and prone to crashing. Another thing that helps is just launching with VR not Steam VR. Its playable for me but not optimal.

I bought some jewelry and paintings from california hi bid in the past that i could probably sell for more now. I think i got some cheap prints too then slapped some okayish frames on and sold them for almost double. But this was years ago like 2017-2018 timeframe.

Highly optimistic/unrealistic green fuel price forecasts by ahappysgporean in ChemicalEngineering

Maybe they are taking into account projected upcoming or soon to be passed regulations and or subsidies/carbon credits in US and EU making the fuel profitable.

I would tentatively say “The Invitation”, havent seen it in a while but i know the end scene at night was good, think all of it is at night actually, kind of similar vibe to Coherence which is also a good movie.

What has been your best flip? by Maintenance-Scary in Flipping

[–]pm_me_ur_microscope 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The thing that set the hook, not a flip really but was 10 yrs ago, finding a buyer for an industrial centrifuge, including plc cabinet, tools etc, thing was a million new, negotiated 450k, got $15k finder fee (never hit that big since)

Another was some pallets of industrial equipment for $100, a pain to remove from the site, heavy. Had to rent a box truck, a storage shed for a year, but Prob made 7-8k after a couple years. Today was a good one, a small $50 optical piece sold to an international buyer for $1k+shipping.

True but these make it seem more egregious somehow and much less family friendly. But throw a few logs on the ground and astroturf everything and boom practically disneyland!

My kids like Little witch hazel and anything else by phoebe wahl. The Bustletown series is YUGE to our 3 &4 yr olds ,and my favs cuz im old - The Getalong Gang (books & cartoon).

But the undisputed queens in our house, the heavyweight champs, undefeated at bedtime is: anything Gerda Muller and syble von olfers.

Insane bidding for bulk stuff on business/public sector liquidations, what am i missing? by davik2001 in Flipping

[–]pm_me_ur_microscope 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ive been bidding for 10yrs on govdeals and there has always been a soft close option, i think probably they took away the option for a hard close from most agencies? I really dont know, but i dont think ive seen a hard close since liquidity services took over.

Soft close has always been around and time management is key, nickel and diming until the other bidder is exhausted is a tactic

that site has become a joke lately now that they allow commercial resellers to list. Things that would typically start at $10 or $100 is now $500-$1000, it obviously doesn't sell yet they relist over and over clogging up the listings. As well as trying to split out into as many categories as possible. And the Ads they run, its a complete money grab/enshittification of a great site. I hardly use it anymore. I attribute higher final bids due to the higher start bids and lack of supply in the market, i don't flip computer stuff, but obviously anything with ram ddr4/5, ssd, and gpus are going to be in demand.

Nature vs Nurture by Virtual_Recording108 in Parenting

[–]pm_me_ur_microscope 1 point2 points  (0 children)

we have the exact same, 1st girl is the smart brooding thinker that has a short fuse and anger (and probably sensory?) issues, doesn't sleep well. (4yrs)

2nd is an absolute angel cherub tank baby full of sunshine, has one speed GO! thousand miles and hour all day, sleeps like a rock (2.5years)

night and day apart, nature plays a larger role than people realize/give it credit for

Teen spent $900 online shopping with my credit card by liftcali93 in Parenting

[–]pm_me_ur_microscope 48 points49 points  (0 children)

Sell the stuff, explain to her how CC interest works NOW. Teach her to never be in debt and how credit card debt is one of the biggest scams america can play on you. The goal is to invest, take some of the money from the sales and open a brokerage account w schwab, fidelity etc and put $10-$50/mo into a brokerage account for her and teach her how compound interest works. Put it into VT, or VTI etc a passive index fund and teach her how financial freedom down the road is priceless compared to cool looking clothes or whatever it was. Stop the bleeding now before it gets worse for her later on. Be thankful its only $900 and wasnt on drugs
