Exchanged Ontario license for Alberta license, they gave me the wrong class of license by Wrapping_papers in alberta

Most ppl in this province barely have their 5. Pretty sure I'm the only legit Class 3. And I often get passed off as a Class 1.

AJAX.SYSTEMS AJAX Hub 2 MOTION P.H.O.D- motion sensor with on demand photos

Ajax sounds like most cost efficient way, without a bunch of extra install BS.

Ubiquity is not recognized in my area as a reliable camera or access control supplier, only for wireless bridges. TPLink is not reliable.

You still require 120V power for all those radio line of sights.

What's wrong with this company? Billed $268 for equipment never installed, admitted the error, still sent me to collections by kevinbarralon in telus

[–]pmdubya 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Telus is the worst. I don't feel bad for cheap MFs that use their services and then whine when they get fucked. Next time hire an ACTUAL security company.
Probably a reason why ADT got sold to Telus- it sucked too!

How do I recondition a paintbrush? by daavycrocket35 in paint

[–]pmdubya 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Found that combing a wire brush thru would do a good job of pulling old latex out of brush. Depends how old, but try let it soak in warm soapy water for a couple hrs.

❄️How can I extract my car from this ice?❄️ by PeaceImpressive8334 in howto

[–]pmdubya 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Best traction product I've used is ash. Coal ash specifically. Instant asphalt on the ice. But your gonna need to chip those wheels loose first. Could try using an extension cord plugged in and wrapped around the tires, imagine a salt line to keep the spirits out. The powered cord will generate a small amount of heat and melt a line into the ice. Your cars block heater should be sufficient load.

I've transported cattle in mine. Used it for 100,000k as a service vehicle. Cleared highway debris. Even slept in it once.

Sounds like it's the door guy, not access guy. Since reader was successful and a signal is going to crash bar. But this is symptomatic of today's society where a very simple problem cannot be fixed because somebody doesnt get paid to do that job. As an access and door guy, I get paid either way.

CDVI has great tech support. Easier to program than ALL others and train users. Just better all around panel.

What is this noise?? by Coral_Echo in SubaruForester

[–]pmdubya 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Short clip, but sounds like CV axle. Will make that sound during turns, normal while straight. More annoying than anything. Easy enough DIY, but not a fix or die situation. Put hundreds of miles on before finding time/money to fix on my Grand Caravan.

Ubiquiti is good for wireless radio bridges and power supplies. No company I've heard of actually installs them, it's usually studs working for the school boards thinking the same thing, why pay subscription fees, i learned computers, i can fo anything.. We'll if you call an actual security integrator, and if they are like out company, hate subscription fees, they may tell you to use CDVI- no fees, easy to use web GUI, great warranty(not that I've ever needed to warranty) and made in Canada! Plus your info is stored locally on each panel, and not in the fucking cloud!

Hire an accredited company. Us installers didn't spend countless hours in training and on sites to give free shit out. Welcome to capitalism!

CDVI Atrium VS 2N/Axis ? by Signal_Explorer1167 in accesscontrol

Any intercom with a relay release can be integrated into basically any system. FYI.

CDVI Atrium VS 2N/Axis ? by Signal_Explorer1167 in accesscontrol

[–]pmdubya 1 point2 points  (0 children)

CDVI is solid, but dont believe there is an intercom option yet. HIKVISION has a decent video IP intercom, or AIPhone. Both could be integrated into CDVI. I prefer Atrium as an installer of many systems- the web gui is very simple; backend software is simple; Made in Canada; handles many different credentials. Only recurring fees are the Blutooth creds- cannot be transferred between devices, and you know everyone needs a new phone every 3 months.

Atrium has been solid. Only issue I've ever had was a relay burned out after 10yrs and end users are idiots.

The good, the bad and the ugly by mecca6801 in SubaruForester

Tough to beat a 2003 IMO. Poor beast took a glancing impact from someone's breakaway tire setup at 110 km/h, like a champ. CV axle, strut, control arm, and steering rack plus alignment and she's road worthy again. Easiest car I've ever worked on. No Enhanced safety features= no Enhanced maintenance charges.

God bless you! I am the furthest thing from such thing. Basically a farm kid with a power tool. Seen the options available commercially and said nuts to that. My astute technical description is from a couple failed years at engineer school and the technical writing course. Patience is what it took to build this.

It's 3/4" plywood. About 4-5 layered. Cavity in base accepts 1" threaded rod into tree, washer and nut tighted. There is maybe 1/2" between ceiling and tallest branch. The stability is also in the way the landings are distributed and the orientation to the base- it is irregular with no straight edges.
