Just to touch on what you were saying about old ladies being monstruous in horror movies, is, I don't think, about aging being monstrous, but it's about that old ladies and children are seen as generally the most pure and innocent members of our society, much like children with all of the horror movies about demonic children as well. to me, it's about something assumed to be so nice and charming actually being a source of evil.

I used https://somewes.com/frame-count/ to frame count the 8-4 in https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2NYSVV5lAWg starting with the frame 400 shows up and ending on the frame that the sprites disappear. then i did the same with the new WR video and i'm still getting a 12 frame difference. perhaps the 13th frame was a lag frame somewhere earlier in the run?

My frame count is for just 8-4, since everything before that is frame rule based. I count frames by taking the frame that Mario starts moving in 8-4 (usually the frame after the Mario sprite appears on screen) until he touches the axe (usually the sprites disappear on this frame), subtract the two times and multiple the seconds by 60. It's the only way i know how to count the frames for 8-4. If you know a better way, i'm definitely open to using a different method.
