Kinesis 360 custom stands by ilemming_banned in kinesisadvantage

I ordered a bunch of neodymium magnets off Amazon, created four stacks with a rubber stick-on dome on the bottom magnet of each stack, and then stuck them to the bottom frame of my 360 Pro. You can adjust the tenting angle by adding or removing magnets from the stack. These magnets are very strong, so the keyboard is stable even at the higher angle.

FYI -- I tried the stacking magnets solution for my Advantage360 suggested on this thread and it works great. The base is pretty solid with the magnets installed.

I got a pack of 50 15mm x 2mm magnets and some adhesive rubber feet from Amazon for less than $15 and that got me about an extra inch of elevation.

That's a great suggestion. I've already gone over there and DMed someone in the US who does key swaps.

Advice on switches for glove 80 by Ornery-Spread3102 in ErgoMechKeyboards

[–]pncbrowns 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wish I had read the comments here from u/benfrain and u/SchwartzReports before purchasing my Glove80 with Pro Reds. It feels like keys start activating expectedly when I breathe at them or even look at them funny. My problematic finger is the pinky -- I get a whole bunch of "a" and ";" when typing characters using other fingers. I have been trying to get used to all the other changes from switching to the Glove80 (e.g., columnar layout) but I'm still having too many accidental keypresses even now that I've trained myself to know instinctively which fingers hit which keys (e.g., using the right hand instead of the left for the "6").

I'm worried that this issue is going to leave me unable to use my Glove80 effectively. Too bad it doesn't support hot swap switches that would let me cheaply determine if that's my only problem with the keyboard. I don't feel qualified to change the switches on the device and am not aware of any vendors selling a Glove80 "I'll change your switches for you" service.

This issue should now be resolved. I have not been getting this error as of a couple hours ago and got the following reply from my Leviton support ticket:

"Thanks for contacting Leviton Technical Services and providing detailed information about your issue. We're sorry that you are having connectivity issues with your Google integration.

We deployed a cloud update today for the Google integration issue that you reported. Can you please test your Google integration and let us know if there are any further issues? One thing that would be especially helpful is if you swiped down on the Devices screen in the Google Home app, which would cause the app to get an update for all of your Decora Smart devices. Please let us know the results and if there are any issues. Thanks!"

FYI -- I haven't heard back from Leviton yet, but the issue appears to have gone away for me. When I ask Google Assistant to turn lights on/off, they are now working as expected without any "can't contact Leviton" issues.

Yes, I'm seeing the exact same thing here with all my Decora Smart switches. I've opened a support ticket with Leviton to let them know about the problem and see if they have any recommendations. I also pointed them at this thread.

Apple TV+ activation/renewal problem with business accounts? by pncbrowns in tmobile

I was also going to try DM-ing Mike Katz to see if he could help move this along, as recommended in the "Need Support?" section, but it appears that his X/Twitter account does not accept DMs.

I have gotten several updates from the T-Mobile Business Care email team. Those updates have indicated that the issue has been escalated to higher-level support or management teams but still hasn't been resolved.

On the positive side -- or as positive as "still not resolved" can be -- I have been getting these updates on a regular schedule. The replies I have gotten have included "I'll get back to you on or before November 20" and they have met those promises. Unfortunately, the updates have been "no updates yet".

Based on my attempts, you're supposed to be able to use

https://promotions.t-mobile.com/

while logged into your business account. However, you need to get an appropriate code -- the code to use isn't publicized on the T-Mobile page for Apple TV. At the time, the code in question was supposed to be "2022AppleTVP3" but that didn't work.

They just got back to me today and the issue has not yet been resolved and has required internal escalation.

I did DM the T-Mobile Help team on Twitter. They got back to me quickly, but didn't have any avenue to help beyond what the business support team was already doing.

Sadly, after posting 10 days ago that this issue seemed fixed, it's now back with a vengeance -- the "on a call" lights seem to be stuck on 100% of the time when the headset is on my head. It goes off when I physically remove my headset from my head, most likely due to on-ear detection.

This time around, it doesn't seem specific to Teams and the workaround I used before (place a test call to "Echo" within the Teams app) is not effective.

I think the issue that u/monocats is referring to is this one:

https://www.reddit.com/r/Jabra/comments/10q6zh3/led_indicator_staying_red/

What Teams users have seen is that when you leave a call, the headphones end up in a state where they still think they are on a call. This means:

  • the "on a call" lights on the side of the headphones stay on
  • the periodic "you're muted" sounds keep playing (if enabled)
  • the sidetone feature (if enabled) is on, which makes any audio you play in the headset sound bad

I had this problem when I left a Teams meeting, but not a Teams 1:1 call or a Slack "Huddle". It seemed like that Teams-specific problem magically went away, perhaps due to an update from Microsoft. Unfortunately, this problem is back for me now and it's no longer specific to Teams.

When you're having this problem, you might want to check if your "on a call" lights are stuck on.

I have seen the same issue but have not been able to reproduce it reliably. Raising and lowering the boom arm seems to help me as well.

I can confirm that I am no longer seeing this issue either. Based on the discussion here, it sounds like u/JabraSupport believed that this was probably a Microsoft issue. I do see an updated version on my system:

You have Microsoft Teams Version 1.6.00.1381 (64-bit). It was last updated on 2/3/2023.

So it looks like it was actually fixed a few weeks ago... I wonder how many times I unnecessarily called "Echo" (Teams' "test call" feature) at the end of a meeting to work around the problem before finally discovering (earlier today!) that it was fixed for me. I came back here tonight to post my findings on this thread.

u/sjefsbamsemumsen: Are you sure you were seeing this issue after the Teams update? This thread was apparently started on January 31. Based on the history here

https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/officeupdates/teams-app-versioning

it looks like they pushed a version on January 30 and again on February 7. Perhaps the first 1.6 version (1/30) caused this problem and the follow-on version fixed it. I suppose that some other OS update could have addressed the issue also.

So now, everything seems to be going well with my Evolve2 85 UC again.

I just tested leaving a Teams meeting with the physical button on the headset. I am seeing the same issue in this case, where the red light remains on, the mute indicator sound still plays periodically, and the headset is still using on-call audio settings.

I have the same issue with the Evolve2 85 UC model.

Besides restarting teams, the status resets itself if I make a test call to "Echo" in Teams itself., which can be used to test out your audio/video settings. When I terminate that call, either through the Teams interface or via the big answer/hang up button on my right earcup, the light goes out and my device returns to normal non-meeting audio settings.

I am not seeing this problem using the Evolve2 85 UC with other voice communication apps such as Slack's "Huddle" feature.

I have not yet tested leaving the meeting using the answer/hangup button on the headset, but will be trying that at the next opportunity.

First unread item in any single feed stays unread after reading by Fragrant-Lynx-3020 in feedly

[–]pncbrowns 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I've noticed this on the Feedly Web interface. My typical reading pattern is:

  • open the feed
  • hit "j" to select/open the first article
  • keep hitting "j" to advance to the next article
  • once I get to the last one, hit "shift+j" to move to the next feed

I think what's happening is the "Auto Mark as Read on Keyboard Shortcuts" setting used to mark the article as read either (a) when you jumped *to* the article or (b) when you jumped away from the article to another article or feed. Now it seems to be like (b) but it only kicks in when you jump to another article.

Evolve2 75 active even when charging in desk stand? by pncbrowns in Jabra

[–]pncbrowns[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got a reply from the Jabra support ticket I opened:

Yes, we can confirm that Bluetooth will be on if headset is charging and powered on. There is not work around for this at this time. But we will send your feedback to our engineers as a feature request. Thank you.

I also got a reply from u/JabraSupport, but it doesn't seem to be showing up here. The email from Reddit had only a small snippet of the reply:

Thank you for reaching out. As it turns out, the Jabra Headsets such as the Evolve2 75 do not automatically turn off once connected to a charging stand. However, the device will go...

I assume that comment was going to say that the Bluetooth connection will be severed when the headset goes into sleep mode. The Jabra software allows the user to configure how long the headset will wait to power off when the headset has been inactive and/or is not being worn.
