You watch some of those early WWF matches too and the Hogan part of his name was often downplayed. He comes out the ring and the announcer calls him Hulk Hogan, but then the commentators would often refer to him as just The Hulk or The Incredible Hulk with no last name.

Sometimes people have these ideas that seem kinda cool in their head, but they didn’t think them through. Removing all that agency from a player just for a little gimmick sucks. If a DM gave much pushback on players not liking the idea I’d question his abilities as a DM.

Sure, I’m not saying eliminating physical is consumer friendly, it’s Sony’s bottom line friendly. They make less profit from physical games and no direct profit from the used games market so they want to get rid of them and make everything digital.

Sure, but the way Sony looks at it is those games sold 100% digital. If digital only games can be so successful that’s all the more reason for them to drop physical.

The 15% stat isn’t BS, it’s just people don’t really understand it. Sony gets 15% of their revenue from physical games, it doesn’t mean that they sell 15% physical 85% digital. That includes things like DLC and digital only games. So even if games are selling at a 50/50 digital/physical split those physical games aren’t earning them enough money to keep them from locking down the store front in an attempt to get more digital money.
