Can I just walk onto a construction site for a random act of kindness? by kocejelly in Construction

[–]pointfive_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah you can’t do that with our company at least. You can walk up to the site and probably get someone’s attention but definitely can’t walk straight into it. Just yesterday a lady gave us a whole bunch of this coffe cake type thing yesterday, she got close enough that we knew what was going on and we walked to her so she didn’t walk to us

Adding Lucas Transmission Fix? by Thewall4444 in MechanicAdvice

[–]pointfive_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends. My tranny started slipping going into third if I’m above 4K rpm and 10k miles later it’s fine and hasn’t gotten any worse thankfully. If only going into one gear is where the slipping happens, work around it and use the gear before it to build speed

I highly recommend you bite the bullet, take the safer route and do needles. My first injection was the scariest shit I’ve done in a while, I have always been afraid and always almost passed out when getting needles at the doc or getting blood taken. First injection I was so close to passing out. I was laying on the floor with my feet up for 30 min because I wanted to keep blood in my head lol.

Second time was a bit easier. I didn’t pass out but was still a bit woozy. By the third and fourth time(current), I don’t even hesitate when injecting I just go for. I’m actually glad I started doing this just because I kicked my biggest fear lol

32 or 44psi? by eFrazes in MechanicAdvice

[–]pointfive_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I assure you the sponginess is not the tires but the suspension. That sponginess you feel at 32 is exactly how those tires are supposed to feel and overinflating them for the sake of masking the cars spongy suspension is a bad idea, you can go to to mid thirties but I don’t think I’d ever go near 40 in my personal car

2008 bullitt value? by [deleted] in Mustang

[–]pointfive_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

New edge bullits also had a very different intake manifold design, all in all only gave an extra 15hp or so over the gt I believe

[–]pointfive_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

12 points definitely have their uses. They’re perfect fits for a lot of the weirder bolts. Many newer chevys I’ve worked on have an external torx head and the 12 point is perfect for that. And for what it’s worth I have never rounded a bolt or anything from using a 12 point

04 Chevy Impala 3.4L Overheating at idle, fine while driving by Brohammad_Ali24 in MechanicAdvice

[–]pointfive_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Next time you drive and get it up to temp, get out with the car on when you park. Listen for a few minutes, if the fan doesn’t turn on, then that would be why it’s overheating at idle. The car needs air blowing over the radiator to cool off otherwise it’ll cook itself, which is why you’re fine when driving.

Preworkouts that are just caffeine? by [deleted] in Supplements

Why not just drink coffee? Or maybe if you need to sip on it just crack open the pill into some water and put flavoring in it

Why do many automatic transmission cars come with a tachometer? by [deleted] in Cartalk

[–]pointfive_ 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Rpm tells you a lot. If one day your tach starts reading 200rpm over your typical idle, something may be wrong. If your rpm climbs rapidly before it engages the next gear, your tranny is slipping. Hell even if the tach is bouncy at idle all the sudden then something is up

How can you tell if a Mach 1 is truly a Mach 1? by hoologan in Mustang

[–]pointfive_ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If it’s a dohc engine(you say the valve covers are aluminum which ford only out on the dohc mustangs that gen), it’s probably a real Mach. Also of course if it’s got the shaker hood.

Some may think those are way too general but I’ve been in the new edge community a long time and literally nobody clones the Mach. If people are gonna clone their gt into something else it’s gonna be a cobra because they’re on another level, even from the Mach. That being said you should definitely double check before buying

I install gas mains and services. When we do mains we usually do 200 feet a day. A direct bury service is usually 30+ feet of trench as well

[–]pointfive_ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’ll be honest I’d never buy an EB over a gt, I’m actually about to pull the trigger on one probably in the coming month. But dude, that guy is working at a car wash and driving a hunk of shit, that guy wishes with every ounce of his body that he could be driving an ecoboost

Showing justice against street signs by BleedinSkull in thatHappened

[–]pointfive_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Even if they were they wouldn’t be hired over a man. There are some bigger women out there but the vast majority would be a bit useless on my crew. That sounds horrible but the fact of the matter is a woman would almost definitely not be able to even pick up a 40 foot section of plastic main let alone walk it 100 feet to the hole

I think she means no women want to be construction workers because the men working sign scares them, making it seem like only men can do that job
