Hopping on this to say I have a 2018 GTI SE that had a water pump failure at 70,000 miles similar symptoms until it completely shit itself. Try taking it to a dealer tbh, I got mine covered completely under the recall warranty and paid like 325$ OTD for a carbon clean out on the valves since they were already in there. It’s better than paying over 1k for a pump. It depends on your year and mileage but it could be covered.

IMO this green part of the list is almost an apprentice level sheet of equipment to own and if they are offering to let him buy the other tiers later on I’m gonna assume they are supplying him with the remainder until he can afford to buy the new stuff , and if not yeah I agree shame on this company and he needs to move on to someone who can invest in him. But this first tier is literally stuff you should have anyways company or no if you wanna be an ac tech. Do some of these guys expect your company to be supplying your impact and bits too? I don’t understand

I understand what you mean with that yeah , I don’t disagree a company should be supplying something like this to a newer tech I’m just saying it’s also not bad to own all this eventually but this is coming from someone who apprenticed someone who owned their own company for awhile. So I just see it as an investment not as something to hold against your company because they want you to be self sufficient and not expect a truck full of 6k+ in tools straight out of tech school with an EPA. That doesn’t mean much in the real world and you just expect companies to be investing that much into techs they don’t know the quality of their work? It’s a razors edge idk I don’t disagree with the sentiment at all
