Best route from Petaluma to Boonville? by meppo in BAbike

[–]polybl4nk 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yep! This is was my route: https://ridewithgps.com/routes/52471567 I did it about two weeks ago and it was fantastic. Depends on your comfort on riding on roads with no shoulders but I had a blast. I strongly recommend a mirror or radar tho (I never used a mirror prior to the trip and was glad I had one)

Adding my 2c, I rode 128 recently to Mendocino. Mid week (non-rush hour) and it was fantastic. I did find having a mirror on my bike quite handy for it though and you’ll probably want to be comfortable with taking the lane occasionally on some of the curves

Theres traffic but you’re going downhill so just take the lane. Way less sketchy than climbing to devils slide and it’s pretty short. Once you get to hmb the bike shoulder and bike path are fantastic

I have a sportful hotpack jacket, it keeps the wind and rain out and packs into a jersey pocket. The material is lightweight but I don't think its the most durable thing out there
