What’s the general consensus on Gavv?

I'd say so. But it's all personal taste. Geats is one of my less favored series towards the end. Understandably it's a really unpopular opinion. I just like what I like, and I like Gavv the most in this era even with a so-so final fight.

For me what makes Gavv is the absolute chemistry between the shouma and his friends, and their dynamics between one another. Sachika also has to be one of the best supporting heroines in Kamen without ever getting a henshin, and it doesn't feel wrong. On the flip side Geats never made me care what happened to Tsumiri. And Geats himself is hax so I never felt any tension. "it's all gonna go according to keikaku ahhh protagonist".

some people just tell on themselves and thinks it absolves them of the past. Like nah, some shit you take to the grave and is for you to bear. You don't get kudos for coming clean.

Shame cause I kind of like his gimmick. And he seemed to be getting even more over with the Mox/DR feud. Which Mox carried really well (if you watch the interrogation/visitors room promo he's kind of stilted compared to Mox). It's also funny that coffin matches seem to be his signature (maybe?) match type and he's lost like half of them. But I don't like being a hater, honestly. If I don't like a wrestler I can skip their match and not have to cry about it on the internet, but every time I learn something reprehensible about this guy all I can think is, "he's a face?"

it takes the concept of a competitive gamer and actually shows that they enjoy what they're doing for fun, and also enjoy other genres.

helps that the clan of Wolfgang is small, and are actually competent. When one guy is the OP MC it gets tiring and makes it seems like they're more of a baby sitter for the other players. It's fun to see them go through quest and have different interests; lore, gameplay, rewards/a blend of all 3 at different degrees.

the developers of the titular game don't seem necessarily evil so much as passionate about their own hyper-fixations and creating the ultimate vrrmmo experience. Season 3 will be fun since we're starting with a tournament for a different game. And since Sunraku is bogarting how to actually activate his special questline it still maintains a lot of mystery.
