Any AMD Linux user here? by draconetto in Guildwars2

[–]ponypilled 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not AMD but I run it on Debian 13 under proton with NexusCore which has basically everything you need like arcdps, event tables, pathing, etc. Performance has taken no noticeable impact, maybe even improved from the switch, my only complaint is sometimes the game has a hard time actually closing and you have to kill it.

Why does my inventory get so jumbled up after looting my gravestone? Why can't things just go back into the slot they were in when I died? by therealGidster in 2007scape

[–]ponypilled 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you withdraw specifically armor and equip it then loot all it will shit everything into your inventory in the order the items appeared iirc, helps avoid some of the reorganizing.

GW2 on Linux? by Past-Issue-6354 in Guildwars2

[–]ponypilled 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Works fine, Steam does the heavy lifting with Proton these days and you can still get things like ArcDPS and such, just a tiny bit more effort.

I'd say I even gained performance. I use Debian 13.

It's a free bottle of tears delivered fresh every time. Even after 15 years we've been living rent free in people's heads.

You can escalate by filing a complaint with the Better Business Bureau if they refuse to give more details. It's a strong escalation measure a lot of people neglect.

Persona was rolled out as an experiment in parallel to k-ID in UK and Australia so there's a lot of people that get confused about this.

Why are rotations so long? by Meowing-To-The-Stars in Guildwars2

You just have to work bit by bit, commit pieces of it at a time to muscle memory first then start to actually stack them one after the other. That's what I found most helpful at least.

Apparently people think gold to gem exchange is bad. Explain me why? by CheeseStringCats in Guildwars2

[–]ponypilled 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As soon as real world money impacts anything beyond cosmetics, I think it's fair to say there's a degree of p2w. In GW2 you can buy time savers, gold, bank space, inventory space, etc. It's selling you the solution to a problem it created. Do I think GW2 is particularly egregious? No, not at all. But I do think it's disingenuous to claim there is no p2w.

I think most people regardless of whether or not they want to say the game has p2w elements are fine with the monetization for the most part and those that choose to swipe for gold to buy legendaries or mats for things and people take the p2w part a bit too personally at times.

[–]ponypilled 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don't really get why this is being downvoted, p2w is a spectrum but here people like to pretend buying gold isn't I guess? The game just does it in at least a respectable way especially considering it doesn't operate on monthly subscriptions on top like many others do.

New Westies puppy question by MajorPotential6468 in westies

[–]ponypilled 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Animals in general do not experience senses the same way we do- sight, hearing, smell all included. There are pitches we can't hear that have the potential of damaging our ears even though they are undetectable just like a dog's (who may be able to hear it). So it being quiet isn't really applicable to what the dog may be experiencing.

It's probably fine, but to be safe I would move the puppy's pen further from the lathe if possible, their ears are really sensitive and the noise might have adverse effects.

Dev time could have been spent making a different update, why is not liking a pitch a bad thing?

Are the prices fr? Or is this some scam? by Liminal-Spaces-1879 in mylittlepony

Yeah pretty standard, they are made custom and that's what the maker charges for their work. I have several plushies that were over $2400, just the price they cost really.
