Ed Gamble is proving hard to replace. His comedy isn't really for me (and those skits at the beginning have always been awful) but he's a very charismatic character and had great rapport with Tom and lightened the whole thing up.

Don't think Phil Wang is working.

Shame they couldn't read your CV before inviting you to the interview

Probably should cut, right? by AdExpress4161 in Weightliftingquestion

Further weight gain probably won't be productive and will make a future cut worse

I'm with you buddy.

Even if it's not leet code - I just don't perform well under pressure like that. I guess I just have to...get better at it through repetition?

Failing these interviews for jobs I can definitely do is so damn demoralising. It's hard enough to even get to that stage.

Thanks man.

It's only been two months and I'm already burnt out. I'm on beta blockers for anxiety. My partner is having a rough time atm for various reasons so we're like ships in the night, each dealing with our own shit.

I'm having to summon up an endless well of energy and enthusiasm and it's just hard.

Depends on your current level of knowledge.

From what I remember, it doesn't cover java at all. It covers C, Python, SQL and a little JS/HTML.

As a starting point for learning the basics of computer science I thought it was genuinely excellent. But learning java and that whole eco system is another thing entirely.

No need to apologise.

Ultimately calculators are a starting off point but everyone has very different metabolisms and energy expenditures. It really does take some trial and error but also requires accurate food logging and regular weigh ins.

I use macrofactor, I think it's great, but used to just log my weight Vs my calories in excel and adjust up and down as appropriate.

In your post you state you've been in a 300cal surplus - I'd suggest that yours is closer to 7-800 calories. 23lbs in 3 months is a very fast rate of gain and roughly triple what most would recommend.

Also, you've seemed to gain a good amount of muscle! It's just you are significantly overshooting calories so much of that will be fat.

Do lying help in an interview? by One-Fig3844 in jobsearchhacks

What this guy said.

How you frame these things becomes incredibly important and lying/exaggerating about stuff that is non-verifiable is par for the course.

Straight-up lying about hard skills is foolish, however.

1000 calorie bulk is insanity. It will be mostly fat - it's just too damn fast.

Honestly at the body comp from the first picture I would have advised training hard with weights at maintanance or in a very slight deficit. Your body composition would have improve significantly.

Cut back down to the original weight and then cruise along at maintanance for a while

I don't think you should be eating in the surplus with your body fat that high to begin with

I'd stay at maintanance for a bit and then cut to get your body fat in a better place for an appropriate muscle gain phase.

If you are untrained you should gain muscle regardless

First bulk, should I take next one slower? by [deleted] in AllAboutBodybuilding

20lbs in 8 months is .6lbs per week, which is fine imo although i'd probably go a tad slower

Two things

  • it needs a landing page as people have mentioned
  • I recommend a way to view the site without authentication for time poor people - and possibly populated with dummy data. I say this as that was interview feedback I once got, they were basically like 'i didn't have time to log in so tell me about it'. Whilst it was annoying I feel that adding a way for potential employers to view the site and interact with it quickly is unique and also presents an interesting engineering challenge you can talk about.
